The main reason for Pakistan's slow economic growth, apart from terrorism is energy shortfall. Why can't Pakistan import power from neighbors who are ready to sell their surplus power at cheaper rates to overcome energy crisis. Why not buy cheaper electricity than to import high cost oil and shut those oil based power plants. We can't move forward without 7-8 percent growth and it is to be achieved at any cost

Politics on eastern side. Security issues on Western side. Iran has international sanctions even though we are importing small amount (50MW I think) from Iran.

CASA-1000 project is in progress but it is suffering from financial and security issues.
