End game begins

Sri Lanka defense sources estimates LTTE terrorists strength of around 200 hard core terrorist fighters and unknown number of soft core terrorist fighters, their morale is low, as they have realized the end is near.

The game will continue till all LTTE terrorist fighters are burnt-out. Burnt-out of all hard core terrorist fighters will be easy picking for Sri Lanka Army.
LTTE terrorists realized their fate at the hands of the Sri Lanka Army.
The only option LTTE terrorists have is death or surrender.

Even the hardest stone starts to crack when beaten continuously. The LTTE terrorists are no exception. Today or tomorrow, Sri Lanka Army 58 and 59 Divisions will cross into the NFZ. An area, roughly 2 miles long and 2 miles wide, to finish the LTTE terrorists.

:victory::yahoo: kick or kill them, but dont let anyone to get away. SA has done a awesome job. Fiinally they are on the verge of getting rid of LTTE once and for all. And after, should concentrate on developement of the region. If this happens SL's economy would be on fire :flame: :enjoy:

Ha!!! again same thing repeating!!! Let me tell you LTTE is a rich organization , they are very rich and this will not end , There are some rumors that some high ranked LTTE cadres already escaped the region , Srilankan Army still not sure if LTTE chief still there or not !!!

Srilankan Army still very week in intelligence gathering , many things hidden from public. Many soldiers just run away from their military afraid of fighting and if they come back they are taken back to military. This shows how professional they are.

Its going to be very dangerous if LTTE again becomes a guerrilla organization. Their military struggling hard to fight a conventional war against a terrorist organization , not sure how are they going to handle guerrilla attacks!!!

Srilankan government has borrowed 1 Bn $s from China in just one year and borrowing more from west. If India + Pakistan's economy affected by a Kargil war very badly, don't know how their military fighting for more than one year !

But still congrats to the SA for eliminating a big threat from south Asia. But its a right time they think of major restructure to their training of Military and make it more professional and stop genocide of Tamils because this will again lead to LTTE support from their own people, LTTE known to be "come back" very easily :)

Tamil Tigers trapped in a square kilometre

* Sri Lanka seizes entire coast
* President declares victory in civil war

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan troops on Saturday seized the country’s entire coastline for the first time in a 25-year war with the Tamil Tigers, the military said, cutting off escape for separatist rebels now facing annihilation.

Two divisions marching from north and south sealed the coast, while a third completed the encirclement of the Tigers and their leaders, now trapped in barely a square kilometre of land without their umbilical access to the sea.

“Now we have linked up on the coastline and the Sea Tigers’ activities are no more,” military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said, referring to the Tigers’ naval wing. Troops were still closing in on the rebels, he said.

Another 4,500 people fled the sandy spit of land controlled by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), bringing the total to nearly 20,000 since Thursday, Nanayakkara said.

Intelligence reports indicated that LTTE founder-leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran and other senior Tigers were in the remaining LTTE territory, Nanayakkara said.

The Red Cross called the civilians’ plight an “unimaginable humanitarian catastrophe” because of the lack of food, water and medical care in the battlezone, where the United Nations estimates 30,000-80,000 innocent people remain trapped. “My government, with the total commitment of our armed forces, has in an unprecedented humanitarian operation finally defeated the LTTE militarily,” Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapaksa said late on Saturday.

“I will be going back to a country that has been totally freed from the barbaric acts of the LTTE,” he said in a speech at an international gathering in Jordan.
