Emirates named world's best airline at Skytrax Awards - Yahoo!7 - Totaltravel

Emirates has been voted the world's best airline at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards, reclaiming the top spot for the first time in a decade.

More than 18.2 million airline passengers from 160 countries took part in the survey, which asked passengers to vote for their favourite airline based on factors ranging from cleanliness of the cabin to the quality of the meals and entertainment.


But while Emirates has taken out top honours, it’s official airline partner Qantas has only just managed to sneak onto the list at number 10. Qatar and Singapore Airlines claimed positions 2 and 3, with ANA and Asiana Airlines also in the top 5.

Qantas was named the Best Airline Australia-Pacific; with its low-cost offshoot Jetstar awarded Best Low Cost Airline Australia-Pacific.

Elsewhere in the global survey, Cathay Pacific Airways were named the World's Best Cabin Staff, Emirates the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment, oneworld the Best Airline Alliance, and ANA the Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards have been conducted every year since 1999 and are considered to be the most prestigious award for today’s airline industry.

Agree Emirates is surely one of the best..
I've traveled on Emirates, Singapore, Turkish Airlines & they deserve to be in the Top 10, but i'm surprised that Thai Air is missing from the list, i think Thai Air lines deserves to be in the list

It seems British Airways, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and American Airlines are in bad shape. None of the airlines from Europe and North America have come forward.
