Building large stations like this are now almost within our grasp.

You forgot to mention the Europan Space Program, which btw is bigger than the russian and chinese one combined and the largest launcher of satellites.

But nevermind, we got embarassed as well...

Lots of other countries like Japan too.

I'm at work and watched it live. It was beautiful to watch and gave me chills. An then the 2 side boosters landed which was incredible. Have we gotten confirmation that the core stage landed successfully on the drone ship? It's just a huge accomplishment for SpaceX and the industry.

SpaceX achievement is a beauty... But let's be down to earth a bit... What is incredible is the re-usable/and re-landing of those boosters... Yes it's great... but it's still "Just that" in the End...

I'm waiting for the BFR project and it's consequence ... that will not only put to shame every agencies on earth...but will write a new Chapter in Human Space History... Something that will be taught for generation to come...

There was no shaking of the drone ship, just a lot of steam all of a sudden. So I presume the core missed its target and ended up in the drink.

But losing the central core was a minor issue, I doubt Elon Musk cares, it took several tries before the ordinary first-stage recoveries were made successfully and this one re-entered at a higher velocity, mass distribution, etc. So regardless of the core's fate the launch is a huge success.

Well...German are the orign of what we can see today with SpaceX and Rockets in General...

So yeah they did a good job...

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but the poster Valerio responded to was obviously trolling.

But then, this is PDF after all, where there's practically no such thing as a thread about anything positive without the negative contribution of at least one troll post.

I know. I admire Wernher von Braun. But this Germany is long gone. Its sad to see a once proud nation not being able to build an airport anymore. To build crap cars and miss evry new technology.

I hope they find the right way before its too late.

Everyone got his time...

What is there to be embarassed about ?

Russia or China have their own successful Rockets

Russia/China were all actively sending mission into Space last 15 years while NASA was renting some space to send their cargo
