Chief of Tehreek-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Dr Tahir ul Qadri has said that dialogue regarding electoral alliance with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was underway and final decision would be taken on March 13 in a party meeting.
Talking to media at Lahore airport before leaving for Canada on Wednesday, Dr Tahir ul Qadri said some elements were issuing statements that he was fleeing from country but he was leaving for Canada for medical treatment and would return on March 11.
He said that the MQM and other parties were willing to form an electoral alliance with TMQ but the decision on the alliance would be made in the meeting of the federal council of the party on March 13.
Decision to either take part in the elections or boycott will be made in the party meeting, he added.
Qadri further said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved their demands of scrutiny of the contesting candidates.
Opposition and government are annoyed over the approval of our demands, he said.
The TMQ chief further added that just like the nation he also has suspicions over the holding of general elections in the country.
