Egyptian president bows out of Pakistan summit

ISLAMABAD: Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has bowed out of a scheduled visit to Pakistan, where he was due to attend the Developing Eight summit in the capital, Egypt and Pakistan said on Thursday.

Morsi had been slated to join the Islamabad talks, and his office said he would now stay home to monitor the truce.

“Mr Morsi took this decision because of the need to monitor internal developments in Egypt and also to monitor the commitments of all parties regarding the ceasefire in Gaza,” said the Egyptian presidency. His Vice President Mahmud Mekki was attending the summit in his place. Pakistan had welcomed Morsi’s prospective visit as the first by an Egyptian head of state in four decades. Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari withdrew the notification of a joint sitting of parliament as Egyptian President Morsi, who was supposed to address it, did not reach Pakistan. staff report/afp

.
Morsi gets more spot light as champion of Ummah by being in the press cameras singing off Gaza truce than attending Dumb8 in Pakistan!

Knowing that Egypt just got rid of their own "Zardari", it could be a bad omen to be in company of such people again.
