Egypt has sent military forces to Syria to support Bashar Assad's forces and enhance military cooperation against terrorism in Syria, according to Iranian news agency Tasnim. The move came amid enhanced rapprochement between Russia and Egypt.

The report claimed that "Egypt became more inclined toward giving military support and sending forces to assist Assad regime, after the recent tensions with Saudi Arabia, which supports terrorists in Syria and Iraq, and the Saudi-led war on civilians in Yemen." Report also indicate that, in the near future, both Egyptian and Syrian regimes would be open to reveal this cooperation publicly. A source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry refused to comment to Tasnim about the military cooperation, saying that an official statement would be issued from his ministry if the reports are true. The head of the Syrian National Security Bureau, General Ali Al-mamluki, met senior Egyptian officials during his announced visit to Egypt two weeks ago. During the historic visit, the two parties had discussed enhancing military cooperation, the reports suggested.

Egypt has increased cooperation with Russia under Egypt's Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, including a preliminary agreement to build a nuclear power plant. The country is also negotiating with Russia to restore flights to its Red Sea resorts, a year after the bombing of a Russian plane carrying holidaymakers back to St. Petersburg. Egypt also announced early in October that it will host Russian troops for war games along the Mediterranean coast, the latest step in the two countries' rapprochement.

While moving closer to Russia, as one of the non-permanent Security Council members, Egypt voted in favor of Russian draft resolutions on Syria at the U.N. Security Council

As the Syrian war continues unabated over the last five years, Assad has been backed by the Russian air force, Iran's Revolutionary Guards and an array of Shiite militias from Arab neighbors, while opposition groups seeking to oust him are backed by the Gulf monarchies, U.S.-led coalition and Turkey.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered a new humanitarian pause in Syria's Aleppo, forcing opposition fighters to leave the eastern, besieged districts. The Syrian opposition dismissed Putin's Aleppo initiatives saying that Russia's humanitarian pause is a media stunt for "public consumption." Aleppo is the focal point of the six-year war in Syria. Assad has said he is determined to retake the country's largest city and former commercial capital. The Assad forces have maintained a siege on the opposition-held eastern quarters since September. The Idlib province has borne the brunt of Russian and Assad regime airstrikes since the two air forces relaxed their bombardment of Aleppo two weeks ago.

Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011, when the regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests erupting as part of the "Arab Spring" uprisings with unexpected ferocity. Since then, more than a quarter of a million people have been killed and more than 10 million displaced across the war-torn country, according to U.N. figures.

The only way Egypt could help is if it provided soldiers or weapons which I doubt they would do. They are in Syria to learn first hand from the Russians. Their military intervention in Yemen has been disastrous, Syria gives them an opportunity to learn information gathering, communications, operations, logistics, ect. Of course it all depends on how much Russia is willing to share.

A REALLY BAD WAY TO LEARN.

Iranian news agency Tasnim.
LOL good joke. I wonder anyone take that seriously.

Now the real story:

In 1961 Nasser tried to prevent breakout of Syria from United Arab Republic, so he sent 200 paratroopers to Layramoon in Aleppo. Paratroopers refused to shoot locals and surrendered. It was the end of UAR. Cheers.

. . .
Drop unguided thermobaric bombs on helpless town => deny everything => blame Belgium.

So if the west blames Russia, it must be true (given they never lie, I mean WMD, hacks, internets servers, sex scandals, babies thrown out of incubators, respecting sovereignty of other countries, are all genuine right?) but if Russia says the west have bombed civilians then its absolutely not true

Russia was laughed at and ridiculed months ago when they said Turkey was planing an invasion of Syria and it indeed happened. Speaking of Turkey they illegally built military bases in Iraq and Syria yet they are unwelcome but how many sanctions or threats against Turkey have we seen from the west? Another example of blatant double standards would be Human rights organizations accusing the US of killing over 300 civilians from 11 different airstrikes in Syria but conveniently the US denies it but then often uses the same sources against Russia. Or what about the Saudis using cluster bombs against civilians and killing thousands? When pressed by journalists the US State department plays if off and refuses to put the same type of blame on the Saudis as they do on Russia.

Your double standards are nothing new. Go continue "ethically cleaning" maybe use some "fireworks".

1) West does not use unguided bombs, clusters, incendiary, thermobaric. Russia aka Assad use all these on daily basis.
2) Syria has 400 K killed directly + about million indirect killed + over 10 mln refugees. No other country has anything close in 21th century.

I dont know where from u got this. Everyone discussed it for years, including on this forum. The only surprising thing is that it happened so late.

They were just there. To gain experience for tunnels warfare

Egypt, Iraq (After northern OPS), Iran sending ground troops to clean some parts of Syria (IS region) with Russian air support wouldn't be a bad idea. Egypt and Iran can gain the experience there.

Bashar al Assad is an animal of the lowest kind of filth. We cannot keep blaming Israel for dictatorships and lack of democracy in our own countries.

Looks like the international trait is to double cross its former supporter. Philippine do it to American and Egypt do the same thing to saudi.

Give it up already, your so full of it. Russia just started the Syria campaign a year ago, prior to that all the death and distruction was Russia's fault too? Western Aleppo is being shelled with chemical weapons, grad, mortars, and tanks, While the Russian Air Force has not flown a single sortie in the area for 2 weeks.

And yes, the west absolutely uses unguided and incendiary weapons. The US has dropped 500 Mark77 in both Iraq wars and Afghanistan. It's both unguided and incendiary. It's a napalm based weapon, much worse than anything used by Russia.

And US allies also use cluster bombs which the US does not care, it only cares if Russia does it for propaganda reasons.

All of this aside the US just killed some 30 Afghan civilians today, they would have denied it if it wasn't for civilians parading dead bodies around in protest. As I said before, the US lies and uses double standards. For some reason you believe everything coming from them despite a poor track record yet refuse to believe Russia. Why would Russia accuse Belgium of killing civilians? If they wanted to make a lie they would direct it at the US.

Give me a break, Turkey denied that they were planning to invade Syria, many people on this forum laughed at Russia, many countries did not take Russia seriously but as you know Turkey did invade. Again you and many other people accuse Russia of lying about Belgian jets hitting civilians but we heard the same thing when Russia said Turkey was preparing a Syrian invasion.

These bombs were dropped in some caves. Russia aka Assad drop unguided bombs on towns and villages on daily basis. Including incendiary cluster and thermobaric bombs.

Where from u get that I really dont know. Reports about planning invasion were coming from Turkey itself.
