Me and my wife are planning to completely live off the grid, we were thinking about building a house from Containers which will be mortgage free , also install some Solar panel on top and in our front yard to power the House, Also it wont be to hard to find a land with a functioning Water well in it . ( Of course when i get my Visa ) haha

Let me know once it’s done. Pakistan doesn’t have any laws for that but in USA it has to be approved by the country before anyone can build home with Containers or building earthship.

I think Permission needs to be taken from Local govt ? I saw videos of People making homes from containers , but anyway even if its not allowed you can still have a custom build 20x40 or 30x40 Home, or a Modified version of barn turned into tiny off the grid homes .

Nice collection of ideas but Solar Paneled Roof will be very expensive to implement and maintain (not practical).

I like the idea of storing and using rain water though. However, water filter arrangement might still be necessary.

House-building is utterly impractical in Pakistan unless you have millions in your pockets. Even then you need to spend wisely.

Sir G, seems a nice idea, but where in Pakistan or some country abroad.
More feasible, when ones children finished their education and doing jobs. You will be self sufficient. Being in Pakistan, in reference to containers, isn't they will become very hot due to our climate - further you need more energy for keeping them cool.

In USA, living in downtown cities will be expensive, so eventually i have to pick a place 20-40 mins drive away from city, now paying rent or mortgage will be hard as I know i wont be getting any white color job , so we have work something which minimize our expenses, and having a tiny house as we will be only people so it will be feasible to live off the grid .
Containers are just one Idea bro, As i said we can turn a Barn into a home , or custom build barn with specific measurements , in fact i am more inclined towards the barn than container .
