Achaaaa. So cpec is now linked or traded through chahbahar or jiwani or pasni or from lahore? Please define cpec and its purpose? Its the GWADAR which attracts china and it started back in 2006. The word cpec didnt exist back then but the plan was there. That was and is for chinese trade and linking gwadar from central asia russia with middle east.
South China issue was old. But for common pakistanis perception its a new thing, and its the problem of lacking international knowlege and experience for some.

The idea was there and they expected resistance from US which they exercised through UAE, in fact they wanted to develop port and other infrastructure in a low profile as long as possible and then democracy of of Zardari came. This was the time once like any democratic government PPP claimed credit.

Musharraf has nothing to do with CPEC yes he started construction of Gwadar Port and made Makran Coastal Highway but that was not for CPEC as he leased the Gwadar Port to Singapore which PPP ended the contract in 2008

And finally Chinese government was forced to politely convey Zardari to stop his private visits to China.

CPEC is the root of BRI belt and Road initiative which was started in 2013 no one knew about it either its Musharraf or Zardari or Nawaz the whole thing was started in 2013 and CPEC was initiated in 2013

No MOU was signed for CPEC before 2013
No one knew about the projects that were included in CPEC before 2013

About the trade from 2007 till 2013 Gwadar Port was under port of Singapore Authority and was not under China. Gwadar Port was given to China on lease for 40 years in 2013 so how can you say plan was there to link Gwadar from central Asia for Chinese trade

Even Motorway was planned in 90's to link Pakistan with central Asian states for trade Musharraf has nothing to do with it


You can check the records Musharraf signed the lease of Gwadar to PSA Port of Singapore Authority for 40 years in 2007 including exemption from corporate tax for 20 years

Like I said Musharraf has nothing to do with CPEC yes he started the construction of Gwadar Port for 3 berths now Gwadar ports will have 75 berth till 2029 which was signed by Nawaz Sharif in 2013

Are you taking bhang? Ayub khan? Lol. It was feroz khan noon PM of pakistan who did all the hard work with sultan of Oman and Prince kareem Agha khan paid a heavy sizeable amount for gwadar. Like you said musharaf has nothing to do with cpec. The word cpec rightly not associated with musharaf but the chinese corridor was there like i said gwadar was planned for china russia central asian states. Gwadar plan was also discussed in early 1990's too and infact Karachi port trust initiated a deep water port development in gwadar by investing a major share in it and some work was done too but later stopped due to funds and then in late 1990's china offered Pakistan to develop it. Cpec cannot be implemented without gwadar and china. The port was first handled by singaporean government in 2006 just to ease pressure from USA because if we gave this to china then we could not handle USA pressure so we were waiting for a better time but i know you dont know about it and its not your mistake.
