I have saw the movie , Hindus sentiments were hurted with the scene of Lord Shiva.

I don't deny this that Hindu God and Goddess has been targeted on many occasions. Be it with the paintings by M F Hussain or with the Ganesha on Slippers and disrespecting other Goddess. I don't see any difference when the Prophet picture with bomb on the turban or Jesus with beer can and cigarette. What people get by offending other religions ?

show me the instance.. I have seen movies who are pretty offensive to muslims..
besides.. censor board is not govt org, its made of people like you and me... the chairman(an appointed post) got very little influence.. and most likely the board will be hindu majority..
and a maker can go to court against board..

another thing similar to western countries including UK.. people find it easier to criticize christianity, because they come from same religion, they are the majority...
criticizing islam and hinduism (contrary to what you think) is still a taboo here... because its a minority religion..
btw.. if you find this movie offensive .. watch 'life of brian' (by monty python)... it got similar response when it got released in 1979.. there are christian leaders furious in condemning it.. but viewers loved it..
(and the two hindi movies have not come even close to life of brian.. trust me)

Muslims immigrated to the West in the last century, minorities didn't lived there for significant time as Muslims have in India. I don't think criticizing them will be taboo. Do you?

There are already laws regarding it and whenever any religious community show its protest its because of that law only .

Present Government is looking after the grievances of the majority community and is raising all the issues which are hurting the Hindu community be it with Cow slaughter, conversation, funding and many other issues. So does this means that in its own way one more issue has been raised which is hurting religious sentiments of Hindu community ?

Muslims of India are native Indians and in case of Muslims in West then there are having a very long history. African Muslims were already there in America since the 16th Century.

And the issues you have mentioned cow slaughter, conversion, funding, they all are law and order issue, concerned citizens can approach the police for any unlawful activity taking place. I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill, if you are so hurt about Shiva being depicted in the movie? why don't you beat up the guys who roam around in the God's get up and going from shop to shop to beg.

We can be liberal on such things but we know that it would hurt the sentiments of majority of people. Still that movie has done business of 200 Cr.

Haven't watched the movie so don't know exactly how Shiva was depicted, so lets just agree to disagree here.

Those were the colonialism era's in which religion was used to justify all this and even Church openly supported slavery and things were somewhat similar like of Indian colonial era. Schedule caste and schedule tribes issues were highlighted a lot which led to the spread of Christianity. North east India whole character is changed now which was just in a span of 150 years and the same things in South Indian states.

I do personally think that this has hurt the sentiments of Hindus . Indians of all the religion know this but just imagine how the Western or other nations people will see it. Again someone can do mischief with the images of the Hindu God and Goddess . I have saw how Indians are called and how they religions are being disgraced.Still waiting to see when GoI will take any action.
