College Drop Outs are not very much respected in Pakistani,South Asian and Asian circles as much as education is seen as key to success however this is mainly skewed towards fields of Sciences and Tech there is not much respect I notice when a student from that backround studies lets say Journalism or Poli-Sci, so how do you guys view college drop outs or people who decided not to got to college at all.

First definition of element in chemistry.

A substances that cannot be converted or broken down into other substances and are primary constituents of matter. Each element is distinguished by its atomic number, i.e. the number of protons in the nuclei of its atoms.

Then after the whole of human history they found out that they were teaching the wrong thing to the whole world and they now have no definition for it. That is college.

It is not about being a drop out but how you handle life after dropping out that I would respect

I've got a degree in Business and Economics, and I've been sitting at home for 2 plus years doing nothing.. so who am I to judge, alot of the people I know who didn't go college/ Uni have settled down 'comfortably', some earning far more than those who have degrees.

Yes. But those who are engaged in any sort of blood spilling activity don't, and they can't.

Bill Gates is a drop out, so is Mark Zuckerberg.

Two of my brothers are extremely successful businessmen, neither went to college or university.

Some of them who have business and skills yes, but most high school graduates without college degree have to work in low paid job.

While you're mostly correct, that's not really what op is talking about.

If you are first generation, it is understandable . Or if it is due to genuine issues. But I strongly recommend all second gen + Pakistanis that education, innovation and business is key in US.
