Iran, Islamic Republic Of
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense
Minister Brigadier General Ahmad
Vahidi dismissed certain states' claims
that Tehran and Pyongyang are
cooperating in producing different
missiles.
"Such claims are nothing more than
speculations," Vahidi said in Tehran on
Monday.
Asked if Iran has sent military experts to
North Korea to pursue missile cooperation
between the two countries, he said, "Thus
far, the Islamic Republic of Iran has sent
no one (to North Korea) to this end."
Iran had also earlier dismissed
cooperation with North Korea on the
development of its ballistic missile
technology, stressing that Tehran enjoys
high capabilities to advance its home-
grown missile program.
"Iran enjoys so many high capabilities that
it doesn't need to import (missile) parts
and technological know-how from other
countries," Iranian Foreign Ministry
Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said in
Tehran in May 2011.
He dismissed media allegations in this
regard as fabricated propaganda,
cautioning that enemies attempt to
pursue their plots against Iran and North
Korea through such reports.
Iranian commanders have on many
occasions stressed the country's high
missile capability, and stated that Iran can
target every enemy base with high
precision with its home-made missiles.
They have underlined that Iran has
reached self-sufficiency in the missile
industry and can target every base of the
enemy in the region from any spot with
the desired precision and degree of
power.
"We can simultaneously fire numerous
and countless missiles from different
spots at one or several targets, which
indicates our capability to perform
convergent and parallel operations,"
Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic
Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier
General Hossein Salami said in
September.
