These days, it has become trendy in some Muslim circles to call themselves "Jihadis". Although there are some groups who follow the conditions of Islamic Jihad (which are quite strict by the way), however there are many who are no more than anarchists butchering other fellow humans rather than being warriors of God. Below I list down 10 things, that in my humble opinion and understanding of Islam differentiate a Jihadi from an anarchist:
1. Jihad in Arabic means struggle. In Islam Jihad has two meanings: struggle against one's conscience; and struggle with the sword against the enemy. Although both kinds of Jihad are important, however the former, has greater significance. Jihad against one' own desires means to control oneself from the worldly and material attractions that are prohibited in religion (for example, alcohol, adultery, killing, looting, lying etc.). Jihad with sword is referred to fighting in the way of Allah (God) and laying one's own life if need be, which is quite difficult if one already does not try to control his or her inner desires.
