Different Coloured Shirts on Aircraft carrier

When we see documentry or pictures of aircraft carriers we always see crew working on the flight deck,the eye catching part is that all crew working on the flight deck are wearing coloured Jersey

Yellow Shirts

These guys are known as Handlers or Directors,they are the only people on the carrier authorised to move the aircraft and to give hand signals
regarding taxing the aircrafts

Green Shirts

These guys operate the catapults and arresting gears

Brown Shirts

These guys are plane crew chiefs who watch over individual planes
and have the responsibility for routine maintenance and fixing aircrafts


Red Shirts

These guys are aviation ordnance crew.Ther job is to load and arm bombs and missiles on aircrafts

Purple Shirts

Also known as grapes,there job is to refuel and defuel the aircrafts

These guys are pilots them selves trained to facilitate the safe and expeditious recovery of aircraft on carrier


Blue Shirt

Blueshirts move, chock and chain aircraft at the direction of Yellow shirts,and drivers and elevator operators

Are medics on board the flight deck

Aircraft maintenance crew

Aircraft maintenance crew also wear green,there job is to repair aircrafts on and below deck

Shooters

Also where yellow,they are originally naval aviators who are responsible for all aspects of catapult maintenance and operation. They ensure that there is sufficient wind (direction and speed) over the deck, and that the steam settings for the catapults will ensure that aircraft have sufficient flying speed at the end of the cat stroke
