Did J-10 really come from Lavi?

How do you proof that model is from 1982? Where's the time stamp?
Dont waste your time with chinese brainers?
I was there at Atlas when the prototyping was being done and wind tunnels; that was the time the best Chinese could put up as a J-8. Here they are claiming to be 2 generation ahead. Typical communist mind set.
Not going to dignify a response to that fellow. Have mentioned details before. End of story. They love to take a design and work on it and suddenly prophets walked in Beijing - sorry for bad example but utter rubbish; just like their technical specs for equipment they put out; 70% is correct; 30% is concocted bs which god knows how they got it.

Lavi was developed since the early 1980s. Even if J-10 model in 1982 looked the same as Lavi, who's to say J-10 didn't copy Lavi back in 1982?
Friend, you have to take everything in 70s'/80's from China with a pinch of salt; they were undergoing the self glorification e.g. the first vaccuum tube, first tv etc etc was created in China then the rest of the world copied it.

your knowledge on complicated military project is next to zero, any working prototype must gone through thousands hours of wind tunel tests and millions of data calculations, this applies to any countries```well, to ignorant people like you to develop a state-of-art plane is pretty much a drawing contest```

there are only four countries in world has a complete and on going data and mathematical structure and frame researches for complicated areodynamic object, that is U.S, China, France and Russian```and for 5th gen stealth fighters, there are only two, China and the U.S````

Friend please talk to the time frame we are referring to. China was in the backwaters of darkness in 80s. Please dont come here with your quasi party nationalistic propaganda.

Well, my 30+ experience on 8 major defence projects which included partially working on Lavi I guess does not count if view of higher IQ of Chinese copiers. I am very very familiar with Chinese technology as we used to pull it apart and see how poor it was.

this part shows you are absolutely clueless about China's defense industry, you still put China at 80s standard, nowadays, those institutions only looking for U.S, and the rest are just tag alone`````the fact is J-10 project has nothing to do with Lavi, and more so to Russia (data and calculation), Italy (mid-range missile guidance architect) and France (developing software)`````again, you are clueless, fact

If the J-10 is based on the Lavi then China saved a bunch of money on R&D.
If not then China developed a fighter by itself, both situations benefit China.
I believe the former is correct, due to obvious similarities and due to the sale of Python 3 (PL-8) missiles (which were intended for the Lavi) merely a year after the cancellation of the Lavi fighter, which helped them develop the PL-9 missile.
