DG Rangers oppose army deployment demand in metropolitan

Sindh Rangers DG Major General Rizwan Akhtar has opposed demands of political parties for army deployment in the metropolis by saying that the military will conduct operations in the same way as are being currently conducted by rangers.
The DG Rangers visited Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) to meet the business community on Tuesday.
DG Rangers clearly said on the occasion while talking to media persons that the demands for army deployment were not appropriate as rangers were trying hard by using all available resources to improve the situation in the city.
KCCI President Haroon Agar said that the bad condition of law and order in the city was not allowing foreign investors to come here and made it difficult for industrialists to complete export orders on time.
Under these conditions, continuation of business and further investment had turned into a very difficult task, added Haroon Agar.
The traders briefed the DG Rangers over money extortion and deteriorating condition of law and order in the metropolis.
The DG Rangers assured the traders that very soon they would improve the situation.

I think at first Pakistan Military should combine Levis, FC and Rangers into one single Paramilitary force along with Anti Narcostics force... Then name it one like Pakistan Rangers or anything else. Also then make their units like of each province and then give then proper equipment along with the number of personals and decent salaries along with small UAVs and Helicopters and APCs...

Rangers Headquarter attacked in Hyderabad, paramilitary troop killed, three injured

53 HYDERABAD: A paramilitary troop was killed and three others injured when unknown miscreants opened indiscriminate fire at Rangers Headquarter here on Friday.

According to details, unidentified motorcyclists sprayed bullets at Rangers Headquarter in Latifabad No 6 area of Hyderabad and sped away.

As a resultant of firing a rangers personnel identified as Muhammad Riaz was killed on the spot and three others sustained wounds.

The body and injured paramilitary troop were shifted to hospital for medico-legal-formalities.

The security forces cordoned off the area after the firing incident and started search for the culprits.

Afghan policeman killed in border skirmish with Pakistan


An Afghan border policeman was killed and three others were injured in a six-hour clash with Pakistani paramilitary forces over a border dispute, Afghan officials said on Thursday.

Idrees Mohmand, a spokesman for the border police, said that the gun battle erupted on Wednesday night and continued until early Thursday over a “gate” allegedly built by Pakistan in eastern Afghanistan.

Last month, President Hamid Karzai ordered Afghan troops to “take immediate measures” to remove the gate that Pakistani troops had built on the Durand Line without any bilateral agreement.

The Durand Line, a 19 th century British-drawn boundary through the tribal Pashtun region, has been a thorny topic between the two neighbours.

Afghanistan says it does not recognise the line and insists that any activities along it be co-ordinated. Pakistan and most of the international community recognise it as the border.

Mohmand said the Afghan police went to the “zero line and destroyed all the new installations built by the Pakistani Government.” That was when the skirmish occurred, he said.

“Now our troops have moved back to their own base and right now everything is normal,” he said, alleging that the Pakistani paramilitaries sustained injuries.

Pakistani officials declined to comment on Wednesday’s clash and casualties.
