I recently launch a site which will help all the Desi living in USA, Canada and UK. This site is totally free to add your business, restaurant anything you like. The site main purpose is to find a Desi doctor, Mosque, schools, restaurant and movie theatre etc. Please do visit this website and let me know your thoughts. I will be adding new countries soon as soon as traffic start coming.

Any punjabi speaking person will tell you that DESI means someone who belongs to the land and DES means land like Bangladesh (land of Bangal). So a local of the land of Toronto is a Desi of Toronto( even if he/she is white).

So it doesnt make sense calling Pakistanis and indians living in USA or UK both desis because we belong to two different land (countries) and we are immigrants not locals of USA or UK.

Desi is not a race either.

Many indians are confused about the word desi thinking it means race to combine all South Asians as one but its not true.

pak, india and bengalis are normally included in desi term just because most of oversees bengali know urdu/hindi and also same with pakistan, hindostan hindi/urdu

but i do agree with a1kaid, most of the indians i see are very dark, the darkest pakistan will be much fairer than them, so pakistanis are easily distinguishable from them..

lol plainly you disgust me, did you know Jinnah in one of his speeches voiced the importance of not differentiating people on the basis of their color or race.
