Def Min inducts IAF officer in HAL board

Won't help.
This move, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. Anyway I think that this definitely going to help in a manner of ways, just having an end-user perspective and a military man at that in such a position will help guide HAL overall. Yes, it's not going to happen over night but this is a good step.

No abi, it isn't going to help, this isn't some scratch that needs a bandaid, it isn't an issue where adequate will cut it when optimum is required, its like fighting a forest fire with a bucket of water, you don't have the time to say that enough buckets will do the job eventually.

@sancho
Dunno if you have seen this, but please, understand the management concepts (resource, human capital, verticals, organisational structure) and engineering concepts involved.

Will break down and unpack what's been said.

@sandy_3126 Educate me. I have been asking you to list out the structural deficiencies in our MIC and the MoD but you've always given me the down low with regard to HAL. I want the macro picture.

.
National aeronautics commission run under the PMO like for our space sciences sector.

That's point one.

Will elaborate later.

That's why ISRO works better than DRDO & HAL

LOL so they HAL never even had an IAF officer all these yrs....UN F-King Believeable!

There are some flaws in the above.

ADA does not work with anyone, its a world in on itself, as in they are literally independent, hell DRDO labs feed it. HAL doesn't work with anyone either.

Sancho, what you are stating won't work specially because the way MoD has designed this structure, you need to understand they have choked any possibility of a nodal oversight and controlling agency under the PMO specifically because they will not give up their commanding position.

Its very difficult for me to put this in a post. Give me some time, I will collate the data for you.

Why don't we simply Merge Hal & ADA Problem Solved :yahoo:

That's the problem, that I would want to change, we have simply too limited options in the aero sector and with ADA and DRDO, partially even HAL parts that are used to their monopoly rather than interoperability with eachother or with other Indian partners. That's why it would be far more beneficial for India to cut their power back and focus them for more joint efforts, instead of keep following their own interests only.

At the end of the day they are still government owned right? So when there is a will, there must be a way.
