What good would that do? Pakistan is essential in the war on terror, even if they are possibly aiding terrorists for their own reasons, since so many come from there.

It doesn't matter now, the Afghan WOT is getting packed up in Afghanistan now, the US troops are about to leave. It doesn't matter what the world thinks now, the OBL death was the US exit strategy for a respectable departure, & they got that. The war is being shifted to the Middle Eastern countries, so Pakistan won't be the focus anymore. If I was India, I'd be very worried. Things could get very ugly for them both in Afghanistan & Kashmir.

Actually, if you listen to Obama & Clinton's speech, as well as the recent events between the ISI & the CIA, Panetta/Mullen vs Pasha/Kiyani, this is the most likely conclusion to this incident. I can explain it in more detail if you want me to.

Nobody is going anywhere. Incremental success in Afganistan will continue to help soar Obama's ratings. There has been a tresure trove of information taken away from the guest of honor's den which basically means that both the left and right can be squeezed anytime from now on to make Pakistan emit correct responses at will. This event in fact just gauranteed US intervention for foreseeable time. Why will they leave now when they hold the whole deck and have the jokers under their butt?

Declaring Pakistan a terrorist state will be the biggest mistake. That will take the initiative totally away from the sensible people in Pakistan and provide it to the military. Look at Iran, even though there have been revolutions and the whole world knows that Iran is in general a great society with relatively less conservative values as compared to the rest of the region, it is known only by its face and not by its content.

That mistake should not be repeated. Pakistan democracy should be helped and there should be a more harder hand over the elements that support terrorism in Pakistan. A sustained effort at this will give voice and strength to the sensible people in Pakistan and will dwindle down the Army and ISI's strength and that will be the only lasting solution to ensure that Pakistan as a soceity grows out of this all pervasive terrorist ideology that its Army and generals have been continually been promoting over the last decades to ensure their hold over the course of the country.
