Recently Burhan was killed by Indian Security forces and as expected the usual insults followed. Same happens when terrorists/rebels are killed anywhere with interested parties celebrating the deaths. I dont hope to discuss here if Burhan was a terrorist or gunman or a rebel. That is immaterial to the captioned subject.

My point is quite simple - We should not be celebrating deaths even if they are of our enemies.

In this specific case, Burhan might be a terrorist but he is fighting for something he believed in. Now that he is dead what can we as Indians gain by hurling interests at his dead body. We are better than this. Gloating is for insecure folks - so let us just appreciate our forces for a job well done and work towards ensuring more innocent youths do not take up this path of terrorism.

Kashmiris however misguided are our countrymen, our flesh and blood and by insulting them we only further alienate them.

Regards

I agree.... Emotions are high especially on a topic like this....

Nobody is insulting Kashmiris, we are insulting the terrorists. That Burhan Douche Bag is the same person who threatened to attack Kashmiri pundits if they returned.. Many of these "countrymen" would do the same if Pundits returned to the valley...

Agree with you on most of it.
Burhan might be a terrorist but he is fighting for something he believed in
but this is what separates him from us. Its not his death that is celebrated but the means he chose to achieve his path.

So you mean to equate us with terrorists?

By that account, even ISIS or Taliban fighters are fighting for something they are believing in.. So should we give respect for them too?

No body should respect them. i am sorry if i gave that impression - far from it.

I am just saying lets not celebrate their deaths. That is all.

Other thing is that core of ISIS and Al Quaeda are not our countrymen, Kashmiris are.

You have little hesitation in equating the elected leader of our land to one of the biggest mass killers of all time, painting a portrait of gulags for our minorities, and you sit on a pulpit here lecturing us on name calling at the killing of a terrorist and enemy of the state.

You've got cojones, I'll give you that.

1. There was no equation whatsoever b/w the Modi and Hitler except for in that corner of your mind responsible for the collective guilt.

2. Am I denying that he was terrorist or an enemy of state? No. Am i sad that he dead? No. Do I appreciate our forces for killing him? Yes. BUT Do i celebrate the death of our countryman? NO. That is not decent. Death by violent means is no cause for celebration.

By celebrating his death, you legitimise him, show that you were fearful of him and his death hence is a cause of celebration. Do celebrate insects dying?

How in the world did you come to that conclusion ?

You said Burhan said this and did that and that justifies us name calling and celebrating his death? This is an example of equivalence where by your actions are dictated by what others did in an intention to get even.

If you are comparing him to an insect, like a cockroach for example, then i agree...

Not all of us are kids here buddy.

For some of us, reading through the lines online and knowing the guy at the other end is a knack picked up over years.

Don't bother rationalizing.

He was an enemy of the state, he radicalized young minds, he threatened to kill innocent people just based on their faith... Yes i will celebrate his death..

Its very noble of you. But Kashmiri or Keralite, anyone who tries to harm my country is an enemy and I will rejoice his/her death. I dont expect our nighbours to pay respect for our soldiers and seeing from many thread here, they dont. Its high time we get down from the moral high horse. Its what killing our soldiers out there.
