The F-16 fighting falcon was the designation given by GD& official USAF and the symbolism of the falcon goes with it.

I don’t see anything that looks like a Fishbed represented there -

Mikoyan-Gurevich did not name Mig21 as the fishbed, neither did they name Mig15 Fagot, these are Nato nomenclatures, all names starting with F are Fighters, Nato was gracious with names like Fulcrum, Foxbat, fang and Flanker, not so much with Farmer, Frogfoot, fishbed and Fishpot.

The Indian Air force seem to have introduced a patch for their MiG-21. Nothing unusual except it's an exact replica of an F-16 patch with same depiction, MiG-21 Fighting Falcon.

Yeah patch copying is nothing new. Russians at one point made one I recall for the MiG-29. It had the same Falcon style logo, with MiG-29 Fighting Fulcrum as the title above the bird.

PAF also I recall copied some F-16 and F-22 patches for their own fleet. It just shows lack of creativity lately by numerous air forces when it comes finding anything original and catchy.

However MiG-21 Fighting "Falcon" or "Fishbed", that is a first one that got me surprised.
