What's new

Dear Indians, Painting stripes on a Cow doesn't make it a Tiger !

Isn't your MIG-21 referred to as the 'Bison' after the upgrades?

A more relevant nickname could have been 'The Bolting/Charging/Stampeding Bison'.

You really can't justify naming the MIG-21's 'Fighting Falcons' and ripping off the iconic badge design.

Fighting Falcon = Bison with wings.

.
USAF can call their F16 a Fighting Falcon but not necessary that IAF wont call its MIG 21 a fighting falcon... For us our MIG 21 is Fighting Falcon... plain and simple...

a moment of silence for your post ....

okay now the moment is gone ... no wait ... it's still senseless dude

. .
The Indian Air force seem to have introduced a patch for their MiG-21. Nothing unusual except it's an exact replica of an F-16 patch with same depiction, MiG-21 Fighting Falcon.

Lol what a pitiful Air Force

Haha..

Now they will try to prove we are cheaters.

a shameless force not once but always since long times .
Given that this pic was taken in December 2013 it means the original designer of the patch is IAF:

It says "Fighting Fishbed"
It is from the decommissioning ceremony of the Type-77 in 2013.

The patch design is very common, trust the OP to open such low quality threads.

Can't really tell from the default zoom level on my phone, but I'll take your word for it.

Why put an image of a falcon on though?

How would you depict a 'fishbed' or 'bison'? Certainly not as anything avian, unless fishbed means something other than the obvious.

.
Lol. IAF Mig-21 pilots wishing they were F-16 pilots instead. So they copied F-16 patch to make them feel better.

Indians think they can justify every foolishness there exists..

They even think Pakistan was a part of India when India did not even exist on 14 August 1947.

From what I know, it is used by aggressors against F-16s flying at Kalaikunda(Singaporean F-16s are located there)
There are IAF MiG29 patches as well similar to these.

.
Then comes military thought, that too js a repackaging of doctrines from here and there - at the least , I have seen less instances of PAF using an idea and passing off as their own.
.
Repackaging Doctrines? If I may ask with due respect.

(Offcourse with the due permission of the great powers here who would ban me in an instance for an offtopic post even if it is to respond to one.)

Airland battle -a big inspiration to Sunderji doctrine but nearly forgotten in Indian claims of origin.
Cold start - Rapid deployment doctrines from RoK merged with Blitzkrieg - yet IBG’s are given some genius chanakya stroke in Indian narratives.

Point being - You aren’t seeing a Pakistani claiming our usage of lessons from Red Flag, Anatolian Eagle and ATLC as “original thought” - your countrymen are.

So you gave the example of other copied logos as a justification for copying?

The F-16 fighting falcon was the designation given by GD& official USAF and the symbolism of the falcon goes with it.

I don’t see anything that looks like a Fishbed represented there -

AMRAAM dodger is an original symbol though, very rare to see patches made for running away.

I gave the example to show how silly this thread is.
The troll attempt as far as the 27th goes makes no difference to us.
We achieved our political objectives, no mass casualty attack in Kashmir since the strike and ZERO terror attacks in major Indian cities for a long time.
We are proud of the IAF and pilots like W/C Abhinandan who take the fight to the enemy inside their territory regardless of the odds.
Chronic underestimation of the enemy is the hallmark of Pak and may that continue.

Our main doctrine remains Jugaad, deploy what works with what you have. (Which is chankyaan by virtue :) )

The doctrines that you refer here, both Sundarji and Cold start, were paper exercises that were tested on War Gaming, Thats what you do in peace time to hone your attributes. But all the while you discount the actual military Doctrines used in real combat which took the adversary by utter shock, Whether stealth towing OSA class Missile boats with Destroyers to decapitate PN, or trifurcation of II Corp and IV Corp, to run as Six Independent Spear heads into EP with 471st Engineering Brigade, 235th Army Engineering Regiment, 2 Para Bn Gp, 20th Mountain Division of the XXXIII corp standing Pivot (Read today's IBG - not Chanakyan).

Now coming to the counter doctrines demonstrated by Pakistan, Like Security of East lies in the West, The Niazi Corridor, maybe brushing up of well-proven tactics might not be such a bad thing.

There is no denying, that we have indeed studied tactics and military doctrines around the world and tried to incorporate them in our fighting sphere, any military worth it's salt not doing so would be not doing it's job.

Now coming to this thread and OMG India copied a Patch From USAF, although it doesn't fly the F16. and thus:

Verbatim:
Lol what a pitiful Air Force
a shameless force not once but always since long times .
Indians think they can justify every foolishness there exists..
indians are a pathetic, copycat, retarded bunch on the planet. shameless j@ckasses!!!
Ah ... the IAF recreating the iconic phrase of 'if only pigs could fly' in their own way I see. (By a Moderator)
(Especially here a Mod who thinks "Fishbed" - A Nato Reporting name is the actual Name of the aircraft :coffee:)

If the same logic now applied to act of Chinese Copying in every sphere, and transposition comments of such caliber, what would be the result?

Irony of "copying" aside, Yes Indian airforce copied a Patch. It's a Patch used by Pakistan Airforce among others. It's unfortunate that IAF that uses mostly civilian enthusiasts for things couldn't come up with something better.

For Bollywood and Music, there isn't enough numerical data available with me for validating or repudiating your claims either. Not my expertise.
