Dead body of a Hindu dug and thrown out of the graveyard

BADIN: The dead body of a Hindu namely Bhoro Bheel, who was killed in a road mishap, the other day , near Pangrio town of Badin district, yesterday was buried in the local graveyard of Haji Fakir. The news of the burial of a Hindu in the Muslims graveyard spread like the wild fire and took no time infuriate the citizens of Pangrio town and its adjoining areas. Hundreds of the people came out with arms and sticks and gathered at the graveyard and dug out the grave and thrown the dead body out the graveyard pleading that it was against the teaching of Islam to allow a non-Muslim to be buried with the Muslims in the same graveyard. While the large number of the relatives of the deceased staged the protest demonstration in front of Pangrio Police Station against what they called the cruel act to throw away the corpse. Later the dead body was buried in an agriculture land of the local leader of PML-N Mir Manzoor Ahmed Talpur. The incident has sent the wave of shock and grief among the circles of civil society and rights groups. They have termed the act as the worst type of violation of human rights and grave discrimination with Hindus. They highly criticised the role of police including SSP Badin Mr Shaukat Khatian for his criminal attitude towards the protesting Hindus. Dr Moti Bheel , the leader of the Bheel community talking to the local media persons claimed that they have burying the dead bodies in the same graveyard since centuries adding he termed the incident the worst- ever in Sindh in the recent history of the country. Such practices and conspiracies were not only tarnishing the image of Pakistan but creating the great unrest among marginalized communities in Sindh. He demanded the high- ups to order the thorough inquiry into the matter.
