Well if it is so much better than why is IAF interested in buying from these foreign manufacturers.

May be better than JF-17 but Gripen is way better. Gripen's electronic countermeasures are way advanced. It is giving tough fight to Russian aircrafts.

Gripen C has an internal jammer while LCA Mk1/Mk1A will carry a podded jammer. Except for that, both EW suites are very similar and perform the same functions. LCA's podded jammer will be an AESA, so that's a significant advantage. Gripen C will introduce a similar podded jammer by 2020. Which means in terms of actively engaging threats, both aircraft are very similar.

No. That program is dead. Now the plan is to go for 114 twin engine jets.

Single engine jets requirement will be fulfilled by LCA Mk2, which is now a Medium Weight Fighter. Mk2 has replaced the need for Gripen/F-16.
