Dhaka, Dec 3 (UNB) - Danish Minister for Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyhr along with a business delegation of 12 leading Danish companies arrives here on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and Denmark.
Olsen Dyhr will be accompanied by three Members of Parliament, the Foreign Secretary and other officials, said a Danish Embassy press release on Monday.
Dyhr is expected to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Ministers, business people and civil society leaders.
The Danish Minister and her delegation will visit the Saidabad Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday. The phase two of the Saidabad project has been financed by Denmark, and is expected to open within this month.
On Thursday, Pia Olsen will inaugurate a business matchmaking seminar together with Industries Minister Dilip Barua.
The business delegation will focus on clean-tech, energy, water and life science - sectors with a great demand in Bangladesh and where Danish companies offer world-class products and solutions.
The trade between Bangladesh and Denmark has grown more than 200 percent in the last three years and it is set to grow even more in the years to come, officials at Danish embassy said here on Monday.
