Welcoming the students and faculty members of Sichuan University, led by Vice President Shi Jian at a reception hosted at Pakistan Embassy prior to their departure for Islamabad, Ambassador Khan said that both sides enjoy close friendships.

"By this evening you will be in Islamabad," said Ambassador Khan adding that it signifies "how close the two countries are with each other."

He said that all segments of society in Pakistan have a great amount of love and affection for the Chinese people.

"They will welcome you from open heart," Khan said.

He said that a couple of days back, a 100-member youth delegation from Pakistan was here at the invitation of All China Youth Federation; the objective behind the visit was to observe the progress China has achieved in all aspects of life in a very short span of time.

"This is the land that made so much progress," Khan said and added that youths have greatly contributed to its development.

He said, "we desire to emulate your experience and want to be a part of this success."

Earlier, Ambassador Khan and Professor Shi Jian in a separate meeting agreed to further enhance the number of exchanges of students and faculty members delegations.

Shi Jian in his address said, "We are very excited to visit Pakistan as well as here at the Pakistan Embassy."

He said that the visit will help to know better about Pakistan and especially in the field of education.

It will also help the young Chinese students to observe the old and historic friendship of Pakistan and China.

The students and faculty members will visit Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi and also interact with their counterparts in various higher learning education institutions.

Chen Jidong, professor and executive director and head of Pakistan Study Center at Sichuan University, also accompanied the delegation.
