Stumbled across a treasure trove of videos uploaded by a travel vlogger about Assam, he has travelled the length and breadth of my state exploring the local cuisine, interacting with our people and visiting our tourist places- of worship, historical importance and wildlife conservation. Anyone interested in knowing more about Assam is urged to view his videos, and if any questions arise thereof we( including @swnjo , @halupridol and @hembo ) would be more than willing to help.

Few qualms though, he is yet to visit Dibrugarh, my hometown, maybe he did but is yet to upload the videos, and for obvious reasons he has decided to omit our staple (gahori) from his collection.

He seems to have visited Assam during last Rongali Bihu, would be interesting to see if he sampled couple of our Bihu delicacies like amloi tup(ant larvae and eggs) and leta polu(silkworm).

I couldn't have asked any visitor to showcase my state better, those interested may have a look.

Kaziranga National Park, last few remaining abodes of one-horned rhinoceros

Majuli, largest river island in the world, a world heritage site and a cultural hotspot- of the satras and mukha bhauna.

Harish ji has done it finally, though he spent little time in my hometown exploring a mobile theatre. In this video he showcases the seat of the erstwhile Ahom Kingdom, one that resisted multiple foreign invasions over centuries. He has captured the history and culture of my people with utmost diligence. Free from the pollution and the hustle and bustle that typifies the Indian mainland (yeah i have seen the dirty threads on India by vested quarters), and friendly people welcoming visitors from other places, this is a part of India a few have experienced. We have had our problems but this is the real Assam.

Btw, the scenic highway shown in concluding minutes surrounded by countless tea gardens is the region where i grew up. Viva la YouTube!!

So anyone else cooking differently will be sent to Bangladesh?

Post pictures of beautiful Assamese women.

You can search by my username for the pics of our cuisine prepared by me and shared on PDF, since you are in the mood of going through my old posts.

Have uploaded pics of gahori(pork) dry fry with lai xaak(mustard greens), pork pickle with fermented bamboo shoots NE style and silkworm fry amongst others.

Asked the mods if its allowed to share pork pics but didn't get any response, else could have uploaded many more.

Cuisine is an unalienable part of our culture, you won't find the Bangladeshis preparing our traditional pithas and laru's. Similarly they won't participate in our cultural and religious festivals. So far as i am concerned, they have no right of being here.

We've been imploring them to make pithas and larus for the past several decades, past governments went out of their ways to make them feel comfortable at home. But in return we have the dubious distinction of being the second most unsafe state in the country for women. Quite telling, considering the size of our state compared to the North/Central Indian ones..

Your turn now Sid, what's your opinion about the Afghan refugees in your country.

Kabuli Pilav is the most famous dish these days everywhere.

Rise beyond your spice envy and stop lynching people

I dont even know why its called kabuli? Considering its just a Pashtun dish. And we make it better than the ghanis.

There is nasi (rice) kebuli here in Indonesia and the origin is from Arab.
