CTD kills 'six terrorists of TTP' in Punjab Operation

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department shot dead six militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Shiekhupura on Sunday, official sources said.

The sources said three gunmen managed to flee during the encounter which took place after armed assailants opened fire on the CTD officials. The six militants were killed when the officers returned fire. Arms and explosive material was also seized in the operation that took place after midnight.

On Thursday, the CTD eliminated eight militants in Dera Ghazi Khan district during a combing operation in Punjab province.

Official sources said four hand grenades, an automatic rifle and four pistols were seized during the operation.

They said the suspects had plans to target sensitive installations in the province. The Punjab government is carrying out an operation against militants as part of National Action Plan (NAP) to quell militancy and extremism.

At one time things were really really bad but things improved a lot with DIG zulfiqar cheema couple of years ago who killed every criminal or terrorist he caught including those that were in prison. Encounter cases rose to new heights and there was friction between him and the warden since the warden was sympathetic towards the criminals in jails and was not.

After he was transfered things started to go south so if a combing operation is done in the areas of sheikhupura and adjoining districts then you will find many Punjabi Taliban.

Yes I thought the same, when I read every week CDT kills TTP/Terrorists, better than to wait for the next jail break, where 400 members of TTP did break out like in the past !

I did read and hear the same about DIG Zulfiqar, that he was not liked by many Chaudrys and MPs and other DIGs, once he had helped me and my family ! May Allah save and protect him, Inshallah !

You need to watch whats going on in the world. Indians call anti-punjab separatist traitors on their shows who claim they are victimized by punjabis.
