CTD breaks terrorist financing network in Karachi

KARACHI: The counter-terrorism department arrested on Sunday four alleged facilitators of banned organisations from Karachi’s SITE and Jubilee areas.

The CTD has claimed that the suspects were involved in gathering Chanda (funds) for the proscribed organizations.

CTD Incharge Chaudhry Safdar said that receipts and money have been recovered from the suspects.

SSP Junaid Sheikh said that the suspects were involved in bank robberies, kidnappings for ransom and extortion.

Last year, the suspects kidnapped a trader and received Rs250 million as ransom, he said.

The SSP CTD further said that the suspects robbed Rs110 million and had also prepared lists for extortion from traders.

Rao Anwar was executing people in fake encounters for political score settling or just out of habit. we will never know how many of these encounters were staged and how many were real.

Not only Rao Anwer went on his killing spree with impunity, he easily dissapeared as well..

Pakistani leaders tend to copy Arabs in their political affairs, they should also learn some shame from Arabs..

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The problem is that when we get someone or some department going good we put all our trust in that and do not invest on the processes for check and balance as much as we should. Results are the Rao Anwar's and the Abid boxer. CTD was also alleged to have blackmailed businessmen (how corrupt businessmen may be) into getting into a deal with them, paying out the money and getting their files closed

Not at all undermining the good work they have done and are doing, but just stating we must keep our focus on check and balances too

All Pakistani departments are corrupt..dont put your faith in anything..
Pakistani culture is incapable of producing leadership..this region of the world was always dominated by foreign leadership from Alexander to Mughals, and the natives take pride in being enslaved by invaders..A society without leadership culture cannot be fair and just...and therefore it will always be corrupt and rotten to the core.
