A CRPF jawan on Monday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside a CRPF camp here in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Constable Sanjay Kumar Yadav, posted with the 178th battalion, shot himself dead with his INSAS rifle at a camp in Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam, a police official said.
The incident occurred at around 1.30 PM when the jawan was on sentry duty. The motive behind his taking such an extreme step was not known immediately, police said.
