Masoumeh Ebtekar among 254 confirmed cases in the country, where 26 people have been killed by the virus

Iran’s vice-president has been diagnosed with coronavirus, state media have reported, as the country struggles to stop the spread of the disease.

Masoumeh Ebtekar is among 254 people infected with the virus in the Middle Eastern nation, where 26 people have been killed.

The vice-president for women and family affairs is better known internationally as the English-language spokeswoman for the hostage-takers who seized the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, sparking a 444-day diplomatic crisis.

Iran’s deputy health minister tested positive for the virus earlier this week, hours after appearing visibly unwell at a press conference during which he denied the government was suppressing the scale of the outbreak.

Coronavirus cases in Iran spiked by 106 over the last 24 hours, the country’s health ministry announced on Thursday. The country’s death toll from the outbreak is higher than any country except China, where the epidemic began.

The outbreak has prompted Iranian authorities to cancel Friday prayers in Tehran. Health ministry spokesman Kianush Jahanpur said there were also plans to impose restrictions at some holy Muslim sites but the plan “needs the approval of the president before being carried out”.

This is article here shows the reason why case fertility rate calculations from numbers published by Iran is useless and jack sh!t, You see, According to our protocols the COVID-19 tests should only be conducted on patients that are hospitalized, And priority should be distributed randomly across the country to minimize the statistical bias, But it seems that our lower than pig lying sack of shit officials are conducting test for themselves and their families, Mahmoud Sadeghi, Dr. Harirchi, Ayatollah Zoalnour, And Masoumeh Ebtekar are tested without being hospitalized, Our number has bias. Last night there was some rummers that Masoumeh Ebtekar took a special ream from Maseih Daneshvari hospital to her house to test her and her dear family for COVID-19, Reporters went there to report on this but her security team arrested them, Today it was announced that she tested positively, So this means that the rummers were true, Now lets hope this whore dies.

Also, WHO should take the situation in Iran into it's own hands and saves us from COVID-19 and these animals.

I’m curious, would Pakistani maulvis comply with such a government order?

Going by the Lal Masjid tamasha, probably not.
That’s indeed an interesting question, never thought of such, plus, there is no real life example from Prophet’s S.A time.
I can’t even make any guesses on this one !!!

Depends. Bring out an order first and we will see if it has legitimate concerns.
That’s the problem - it shouldn’t ‘depend’. The elected government has the sole authority to take such decisions and the only recourse available is via the courts.

Maulvis and everyone else need to get out of this mindset that following government orders is ‘optional’.

There is no concept of sole authority as per constitution of Pakistan.

An law or edict or resolution passed by the lower or upper house must comply with wisdom propagated by Quran and Sunnah.

Bro, you can’t put all on a government since the shariah is not the domain of government in Pakistan UNFORTUNATELY, and even if it is, it is insignificant with less implementation in courts or anywhere.

You are speaking the same way like the triple talaq bill and Indian government’s sole dictation.

In general, Religion can’t be dictated or modified by a government, it is set 1400 years ago by Allah and His Last Messenger.

As for this Friday prayer, i still Don’t consider my self worthy enough to comment on this.

And that determination is not left up to every Tom, Dick and Harry to make. There are constitutionally established bodies (such as the courts) that can make a determination about the constitutionality of a government directive. So until a court grants a stay (or suspends) a government order, it needs to be followed by Pakistanis.

Best of luck to Iran. Hopefully things will be in control in few days time.

When top govt officials also get affected than it means that disease has already spread widely in the country.

Religion does not Trump the Public Good nor does it trump the safety and lives of millions, especially when every ‘do takay ka maulvi’ presents himself as a thakaydar of Islam and has his/her own interpretation.

Government orders should be followed unless a court or other constitutionally empowered institution with the authority to suspend government orders passes such a judgement.
