RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Jawed Bajwa visited the Line of Control on Friday and instructed Pakistani troops to stay prepared for Indian violations at all times, directing them to respond to Indian aggression with full force, according to the ISPR.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff, spent his day visiting Headquarters 10 Corps Rawalpindi and troops on forward locations on the Line of Control. He was briefed in detail about prevailing security situation at LOC in view of recent violations and escalation by Indian troops and the response given by Pakistani security forces.

"India's aggressive posture is aimed at diverting the world's attention from the atrocities its own troops is committing in occupied Kashmir," he said.

For lasting peace in the region, Bajwa said that the two nations must solve the issue of Kashmir in line with the resolutions of the United Nations. Lt Gen Malik Zafar Iqbal, Commander of the 10 Corps, received Gen. Bajwa at the Corps headquarters and later accompanied him during his visit to the Line of Control.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said that Pakistani troops will respond to ceasefire violations by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC) with ‘full force’, Inter-Services Public Relations said.

During a visit to the 10 Corps Rawalpindi and troops at forward locations along the LoC, Gen Bajwa said: “Each violation of any kind must be responded to with full force in the most effective manner.”

The Army chief was briefed on the security situation at the LoC “in view of recent violations and escalation by Indian troops and Pakistan’s own response,” the ISPR said.

The COAS said India’s ‘aggressive posture’ is aims solely to divert the world’s attention away from ‘atrocities’ being committed by Indian troops in held Kashmir.

Gen Bajwa said the Kashmir issue will have to be resolved in line with United Nations resolutions keeping in view the aspirations of the Kashmiri people in order to achieve lasting regional peace, ISPR said.

The army chief appreciated the operational readiness of troops and the ‘befitting response’ given to ‘unprovoked Indian firing’ across the LoC, Gen Bajwa directed troops to keep the highest level of vigil at all times.

The army chief’s statements come at a time tensions between Pakistan and India are running high following an alleged ‘surgical strike’, unrest in Kashmir and the Uri army base attack in September.

Since then there have been repeated outbreaks of cross-border firing in Kashmir, with both sides reporting deaths and injuries including of civilians.

In November, at least nine people were killed and 11 others wounded when Indian troops targeted the passenger coaster in Azad Jammu and Kashmir near the LoC. A total of three soldiers and 10 civilians were killed, and 18 others injured in cross-border firing and shelling.

Great..

Well after Nagrota attack in IOK the firing on LOC has stopped i guess didn't hear the news about it from few days...

He used the word "with full force". Not "befitting" anymore which more or less suggested that Pakistani response was measured and proportionate. Expect huge fireworks on any violations from Indian side.

I feel sorry for Indians.. their happiness on retirement of Gen Raheel Sharif was very short lived... they were hoping tht new chief will only consider terrorism as the real threat, as was said abt him....lekin..yahan tu inhon ne bhi Gen Raheel Sharif ki tarah Kashmir ka zikr diya, and to respond with full force

we also need to upgrade our fire power to cause maximum damage in minimum shot..

We need more hardened Bunkers with heavy Artillery 130mm Type-59 IIM Howitzers for indirect fire, Bakthar Shikans, for direct fire, 37mm twin AA Gun for high rapid-fire on ground targets, more snipers ! Better surveillance and night equipment, more Helicopters for fast evacuation of wounded Troops, more trenches and bunkers for civilians which are living near the Border ! Alarm siren system for the civilians, by heavy fighting, to have a safe place for example Bunker or trench lines !

Pakistan will need to get Offensive approach & Aggressive one as well on the LOC CeaseFire Violations, & that's what Gen.Bajwa told the Troops to respond with "Full Force"... Let's wait & watch if Indian's play around along the LOC...
