QUETTA: A resolution condemning US drone strikes in the province of Balochistan was unanimously accepted Saturday.
The resolution was tabled by the clerics-based Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (JUI) party to Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani.
"The federal government should fulfill its responsibility of stopping these attacks," the resolution said.
Pakistan Muslim League-Q's parliamentary leader Jaafar Mandokhel, Balochistan National Party-Awami's Saeed Ahsan Shah and minister Abdul Khaliq Bashir Dost supported the move. They recommended a conference to help them decide what action should be taken. The MPAs expressed the fear that after attacking the NWFP and tribal areas, the US wanted to use the drones in Balochistan. After this, it will use the excuse of the Taliban to attack Lahore and Karachi as well.
