Clear divide between Trump and American establishment. How should Pakistan proceed?

Deep state is a big big problem. Not only for Pakistan, but the rest of the world.

Pakistan should work closely with Trump. We must give Trump the victory in Afghanistan. The deep state is going to go into a frenzy.

what happens when trump leaves ?

Just wondering, since the IK's visit to US what happened to all these " we dont need america, theis weapons are a curse for us"???

that tune is sang only when the money stops coming

India needs to seriously worry about what will happen when the USA leaves Afghanistan.

I have been saying this to Indians for years now: Just wait till the USA leaves Afghanistan.

The first time I said this to a few Indians in their face they laughed so much.

Again, Indians, just wait till the USA leaves Afghanistan. Everything will become crystal clear to you!!

Full blown Civil war in Afghanistan will break out if Trump succeeds in a pullout. ISIS/blackwater will attack Pakistan with full force whilst India will attack across LOC in north.

Two front Northern war is inevitable.

This is exactly the Hindu Zionists plan to corner PAkistan into 2 front war with USA making a excuse to infiltrate Afghanistan only.
Pakistan needs to start a seperate proxy war as they did in Kargil under General Musherif to surprise Indians in LoC border.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeosaid Monday that President Donald Trump wants the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan drawn down before the 2020 presidential election, adding that he has seen “real progress” with security in the area.

The comments came just a few hours before NATO officials announced two U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan during train-and-assist missions there. About 14,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in the country.

During remarks at The Economic Club Of Washington, Pompeo said the troop withdrawal is consistent with past requests from Trump, who has said he wants an end to U.S. involvement in the nearly 18-year-old war.

“End the endless wars, draw down, reduce,” Pompeo said. “It won't just be us. … we hope that overall, the need for combat forces in the region is reduced.”

When asked about timing the withdrawal to the 2020 election, Pompeo laughed that “it's not only my expectation, it would be job enhancing.”

Pentagon officials referred all questions on the comments to the State Department.

Despite Trump’s past promises to reduce the U.S. military footprint in Afghanistan, the number of U.S. forces there has increased in the two-plus years since he took office. Earlier this month, he said that if America wanted to get out of the conflict quickly, Afghanistan “would be wiped off the face of the Earth.”

Those comments drew concerns from Afghan government leaders and ridicule from Taliban officials.

Trump says he has a plan to win the Afghanistan war in 10 days

President Trump said he would win the war in Afghanistan in 10 days, and at the cost of 10 million lives.

Trump has also said that U.S. military leaders have been reluctant to draw down forces in Afghanistan, given continued instability there.

Pompeo said negotiations with the Taliban on a cease fire and permanent end to hostilities have shown promise.

“When I was there last, I met with (non-governmental organizations), I met with women's groups, a broad swath of Afghanistan,” he said. “We want them to take their country back and we want to reduce what is for us tens of billions of dollars a year in expenditures and enormous risk to your kids and your grandkids who are fighting for America.”

So far this year, 12 U.S. service members have been killed in fighting in Afghanistan, and nearly 60 others injured. More than 2,400 have died there since the war began in 2001.

Reporter Kyle Rempfer contributed to this story.

Just wait till the USA leaves Afghanistan, everything will become crystal clear to you Indians.

Indians go around wasting billions and billions of $$ building useless buildings and roads to nowhere in Afghanistan, and then turn around and say, "... only the neighbours of Afghanistan need to worry about Afghanistan" while every single entity worth its salt in the Indian deep state is p!ssing in its pants at the thought of the USA withdrawing from Afghanistan.

For the first time in Pak-US relationship we are witnessing a role reversal where in past, it was GOP and Pakistani establishment at lodger heads in their dealings with America, now it is crystal clear that Trump and American establishment or deep state are not singing from same hymn sheet when it comes to Pakistan.

It came out in open when American state department refused to acknowledge PM Khan visit to America.

https://www.samaa.tv/news/2019/07/us-state-department-clueless-about-imran-khans-us-visit/

US State Department clueless about Imran Khan’s visit

Mike Pompeo is the head and goes without saying , he is a ex CIA chief. Deep state poster boy in other words. Its only white house which acknowledged IK visit after state department rather embarrassing admission. Pompeo did meet PMIK eventually but there are other , very noticeable absentees in the meeting between Trump and PMIK. While ISI chief was present in white house meeting, where were his counterparts on American side? The following lot went missing:

Mike Pence (Vice president)
John Bolton (NSA)
Gina Haspel (CIA chief)
Dan Coats (National intelligence chief)

Basically, either American deep state boycotted IK-Trump meeting, or, they were kept at arms length by Trump himself.

Either way one look at it, Pakistan must tread with caution. We MUST NOT put ourselves and commit to things that can put us in a tight situation in future. There is a clear divide in America and Pakistan can be made an easy scape goat if things go south in Afghansitan. Its the American deep state which should be put as number one suspect in putting the spanner in works. Remember what IK said , he was clear that its Trump who is "pushing" people to come to terms with Afghanistan situation and hammer a peace deal. While we support Trump (even if its for his re-election bid) , we need to make absolutely clear to him that those individuals in American establishment , specially in intelligence setup, who are dithering , must be put to sword.

Dan Coats was fired few days ago and replaced with Trump loyalist. Shall we take this as a positive sign from Trump administration?

Dan Coats: US intelligence chief leaves Trump administration

Pakistani establishment, if not directly, but atleast through Pakistani media must convey this to the world that we will help Afghan peace process, but we are highly suspicious of American deep state and its shenanigans and its ability to put the spanner in the works.

We must wash our hands from any future "ti** up" situation.

Any comments?
Very elegant analysis. It has been evident for over a year that Donald Trump often seeks to fulfil his own agenda, which is more in line with his libertarian, isolationist or perhaps old fashioned conservative roots. That is what won him votes. Now that he is in the white house, he is surrounded by neoconservative hawks who want bomb bomb bomb, intervention intervention intervention, Israel Israel Israel. He often resists the deep state machinations, surprising the neoconservative elements. Take the holding back on bombing Iran for example. The truth is that his world view is reasonably aligned with Pakistani interests, at least insofar as he wants to leave afg alone. And he isn't as rabidly pro-india as the paranoid neoconservative elements are.

what matters is trump ..nothing else...trump has a popular president..and is probably going to be reelected given democrats are just sleeping..there is no strong progressive candidate to oppose him ..

john bolton and the long list can be fired anytime if trump wants it..

trump, and Nancy polisy are only two people that really matter as well as approaching the multiple congressional caucus..
Trump can't get rid of Bolton. He is the new Dick Cheney. He is the soul of the neoconservative movement.

I think IK should go all guns blazing for a trump bromance, like what Putin or Kim jong Un have with him. Bolton and Pompeo are ideological and existential enemies of Pakistan. Trump is not. I know it sounds ridiculous but donald trump is Pakistan's only chance of having a real partner we can work with in the USA at present.

double yawn

Once the USA has left Afghanistan, both Pakistan and China together will make mince meat out India. And the funny thing is neither of these countries will have to fire a single bullet. There are more than enough cracks deeply embedded in the Indian society. The very caste system is a glaring example.

India's humiliating defeat from China in Doklam exposed to the powers that be the ultimate reality, that India and Indians are all talk and no substance. The Upper Echelons of those powers that be finally understood and realized about the inherent inability of India to put up any sort of real fight.

India later on, with much needed approval, tried to forget the brutal humiliation in Doklam and redeem itself in the eyes of its masters by trying to attack Pakistan, only to be left with even worse defeat than Doklam.

People forget that current events happening are occurring under the shadows cast by events in the recent past.

President Trump, along with the American deep state, have realized that India is nothing more than a Bollywood flick: All goes well and dandy as long as everyone is forced to follow a script. The trouble for them is, Pakistan is absolutely emotionless and brutal when it comes to real politik, does not follow any scripts without editing at will, and is not really predictable in what it will do next.

President Trump was surely briefed on all such matters, was given options to consider and proceed as required to further enhance and protect the interests of the United States. The Americans have realized that India was absolutely the wrong cow to bet on!!

About time the neocon hold on American deep state is sorted out. Two decades is far too long to have same people with same narrative and agenda to be given such freedom and power. These nutcases are desperate for their rapture. America under these people have done nothing but nose dived when it comes to its reputation and hold in geopolitics. Multipolar world that we see today is the result of these same individuals. I think Pakistani establishment can help Trump as they are ones who might have insight into individuals working in the shadows for the last two decades. If Trump want his way, he must cleanse his deep state, just like Musharraf did in post 9/11 (for all the right or wrong reasons).
