Classic Fighters...

Close air support, Anti-UAV role.. last ditch intercepts.

Always wondered why can mothballed aircrafts not be changed into a drone that would act like a cruise missile...would be cheaper and quite effective alternative.

With such a huge fleet of "Twin Engine" fighters that served almost 3 decades besides A5, another Twin engine strike fighter, how come we keep hearing PAF's fetish with single engine fighters

with its cannon and the sidewinder missile the F-6 became a formidable ADF.

My favorite childhood jet, used to stand for hours under the burning sun just watch them fly over head doing maneuvers.

Love this Chakka!!..there is one freshly painted outside Base Cdr Mushaf's office.; it look so well prepared.
BTW dual-seat F-6 retired in April'2011 and are still stored in decent condition for flying.

After retirement from active service, quite a few F-80, F-86 & F-100 were converted into drones under QF designation. However these were used as targets only.

Don’t think Pakistan has the technical knowhow to convert her retired aircrafts into drones. Don’t know what happened to the IAF Gnat. Being small & agile, it would have made a very good target drone as well.

China has converted J-6s and J-7s into cruise missile type drones, they can also be used as decoys in time of war so that opponents reveal SAM/radar site locations or expend missiles.

Can out technicians convert it into armed Drone as American did to their F-16s

.
Good ADF fighter (MIG19/j6) but obviously quickly superseded by the much superior Mig21/J-7.....it was the Soviet Union's paper napkin fighter...use them in numbers and just throw away.......hence wasn't designed to be sophisticated.
True, but hats off to the ingenuity of the Pakistani air crew and engineers who managed to extract the maximum out of this aircraft with very limited resources. Thankfully, this spirit of pragmatic problem solving still exists in the PAF today, case in point the JF17 fighter aircraft.
