Circassians and Cherkasy-East Ukrainians(Donbass cossacks) :-common past/origin

Circassians are Muslims

Circassians are pagan originally. Those who were brought to Ukraine ,Kuban and eastern russia adopted christianity. Those who were in caucusus adopted islam due to islamic invasions .

Yes, in the blood of the people of south-western Russia (present-day Novorossia or as some still call - "south-eastern - ukraine") is a certain proportion of nomadic genes. But to say that the Cossacks are non-Slavic - this is an obvious exaggeration. The Cossacks have always considered themselves to be Russian, and it's actually true. Although the Cossacks took into regiments those non-Russian who converted to Orthodoxy.

Go to the Don or the Kuban and tell Cossacks that they are descendants of Khazar Jews. You may not back home :-)

Ukrainian and Russian - genetically, by faith, on the history and language - one nation (except western Ukraine - is a mixture of Romanians, Slavs, Hungarians and Jews).
All Cossacks have always been proud that they - are Russian Orthodox. It does not matter how many nations lived in the steppes to Russian - there were dozens and almost every age across the steppe went wave of nomad conquerors. But then, these lands were conquered by Russia. And settled by Russian population.

They were converted to russian orthodoxy. Read through imperial chronicles. Many circassian tribes were on the payroll of the tsars and were called by the tsars to settle down on condition that they convert . Circassian, russian, chechen, ingush ,ukraine, poland. All descendants of Scythians and all slav tribes ,though some had turkic influences.

Listen, people of the Caucasus are called "black." Nobody will ever confuse a Cossack with Caucasians.
They can deny whatever they want.
You can believe whatever you want.

This is more of a cultural thing due to the 1990's chechen wars. Though if there are dark skinned caucusians its mainly dagestanis. Though 70% of the chechens look like Russians. Also ,Circassians faced several islamic invasions .After the nogais were expelled from Kuban,it was germans, ukrainians, swedes, chechens, circassians called to settle there and convert to orthodoxy.

Cossacks is from the word Kasog ,which was Rus term for Circassian. Many towns of Eastern Ukraine had Circassian names as many circassian and chechen tribes were invited by tsars (on the condition they convert) to parts of ukraine that Russia captured from Crimean tatars, nogais in Kuban . Even before mongol invasion ,kievan rus who invite circassians to come and settle on their lands as northern slavic people have historical tendency to laziness ,though they are very good warriors.

Although Cossacks lived in the region prior to the late 18th century[1] (one theory of Cossack origin traces their lineage to the ancient Kasog peoples who populated the Kuban in 9th-13th centuries

The first Cossacks on the Kuban (1444-1716)

It thought that the term Cossack originated in the Kuban, from the ancient CircassianKassak (alternative version kasog) where it entered the Turkic language and from there was adopted by the latter proto-Cossack groups of the Don and Dnieper.

According to some historians ,Cossacks are descendants of Kasog Circassians and Scythian slav who merged into a common people.Plus a lot of people were imported from caucusus to improve russian agricultural output .

UKRAINIAN NAMES.

Closing-KO has Adygeyan language meaning "son" (ko), that is formed in Ukraine last name exactly as in Russia, but in Russia, "the son of Peter," and the son fell off was just Petrov (as well as itself in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic and Slovakia), in Ukraine said whose son Peter's son, ie PETRO-KO (by adygskie son of Peter), etc., the same Turkic roots have surnames on-UK,-CC, (Turkic Gayuk, Tayuk, Kucuk) Ukrainian Kravchuk Mykolaychuk and so on.
In addition a number of Ukrainian surnames were absolutely Turkic Buchma Kuchma (the Turkic language is a high peaked cap)!
Such a common Ukrainian surname as Shevchenko has Circassian origin, had this name just at the time when the Dnieper Cherkasov appeared Kasogs and Circassian tribes (hence the Cherkassy). It goes back to the word "sheudzhen" which Circassians designated their Christian priests. Under the onslaught of Islam Sheudzhen emigrated from the Ukraine part of Circassian. Their descendants naturally called "shevdzhenko", "Shevchenko", it is known that adygskie "KO" is a descendant of the son. Another very common surname Shevchuk back to adygskoj name Shevtsuk. Mazeppa - Circassian family name, in the same form Some people in the Caucasus

Cossack comes from the Turkic word "kozak" or "kazaq" meaning "tramp", "loner". This was the name of those who left the horde and lived by himself.
Kuban Cossacks are descendants of the Zaporozhye Cossacks - they went to the Kuban-river at the invitation of Queen Catherine. Don Cossacks lives on Don. Both - Rusyches, Russian. There also another Cossacks Armies - Tereck's, Mezhdurechye's and others.
Cherkasy live in the North Caucasus even now, and some of them emigrated to Turkey. They maintain their traditions and their language.
Cossacks - not a nation it is Russian military caste. This class had its privileges, so young people leaved their feudals and fled south, became Cossacks.
