.....
There were times during our conversations when I was at my witsend. Lol

Arrrggghhhh

.
I asked you one simple question and instead of replying to that you got personal. Anyway sunday is almost here you can lolz and roflz after listening to this son of church.

I don't go church as you think... as if you answered any of my questions previously...

.
I have never seen GND THIS SHAKEN up before.

Perhaps the trick worked. @Mamsalaphala

Attack IS the best defense.

Christian evangelicals or extremists.

He knows some stuff for sure, but it is presented in somewhat of a skewed way.

The thing is when you bring in a religion for criticism, you have to define what you even consider to be its "envelope".

Otherwise you set yourself up for every sort of dirty laundry to be shown.

I am also merely touching on the tip of the iceberg.

I have a very good Armenian friend who is very open to discussion about faith/religion...even though he is quite a strong believer in his church (so a very rare gem of a person basically). And we have had many discussions about the council of chalcedon and how basically Armenian Church (along with several other Eastern churches - even Syriac Malabar included) separated from the "mainstream" churches on the doctrine on the nature of Jesus Christ....similar to dvaita/advaita debate in Hinduism.

But a huge difference is that in Hinduism it has always remained a debate and co-existence is allowed to exist and even is celebrated and relished. Have we ever seen any major armed conflict on the basis of the version of Hindu philosophy in place/favour....and a desire to purge the other one? Hinduism has always treated faith as fluid water, it is impossible to hold it tightly in a clenched fist.

But in Christianity, it became a real source of friction/suspicion/hate later on, because basically too many of whatever dominant mainstream always at some point get angry that there are other "versions" out there that pose a risk in some way to what they believe, merely by their existence. So when this complex has always historically existed within the Christian world...and they have mass murdered each other because of such things (this is just one example of many though in a way it set the precedent for various other schisms to occur)....is it surprising how they treated non-Christians when they came into contact with them? Is it surprising this nature has come from the original Judaism (which in itself comes from a few different streams of Middle Eastern religions) and continues in a most unaltered form in many parts of Islam today? Human nature gets unleashed in a very dogmatic, doctrinal way at the core level when these sorts of faiths are left unchecked by external reform and revolution.

With this in mind is it really fair to say Hinduism is the one that is doctrinally inferior in theory and practice? That is solely a western biased construct that ignores the many reformers Hinduism has had within its history, even before Jesus Christ's time....going as far back as Veda Vyasa and numerous other Rishis. In fact the story of the conflict and later kinship of Vashishtha and Viswamitra is a well known one....and really set the precept for the priorities that Hinduism has always espoused....to not be worried about the details, but the ultimate goal (truth finding).

The practice of birth based Varna is a human created social construct....and I do take criticism of it to be valid. But then it has to be compared with the social constructs of other societies too, they dont get to be magically swept underneath the carpet.

Comparing only "positive" doctrinal assertions of the major Monotheistic faiths with the "negative" social constructs found in the larger "Hindu" world and trying to equate the two is a very skewed narrative....and one I absolutely abhor. When comparing apples, we must compare to apples.....not oranges.

Let us compare doctrine to doctrine....or social constructs to social constructs. But to do so I fear would invite wrath from various quarters who get upset and over-react (from what I have seen).....so I will leave it at that.

'voluntary' not forced. If people voluntarily move into Hinduism, it is just fine.
There is nothing like voluntary, as I live in a Christian majority place, I know them better than anybody, they give all kinds of offers and discounts, they insult Hindu gods and refer to Hindus as superstitious people, as though they don't believe in superstitions, Christians believe in more superstions than Hindus, in India minorities get all kinds of govt benefits where as the so called not so majority does not have any benefits.

I know of this too brother. In our family our grandmother long time ago had a run in with this constant type of humiliation/degradation from some vicious Christian folk. It was a horrible thing to learn about when my dad told me about it long time back.

Many of them do not know how to leave others alone and they project their insecurities and anger onto us for no reason other than to create more spite, hatred and mistrust. Its sad because they undermine their own community when they do this in the long run.

I wish BJP did a much better job when they were in Karnataka, they squandered a good opportunity.

.
Nope, but I'll look it up.

Chsristians do- especially when it comes to the old testament. Over time they've whittled down references to only the 'good god', especially in mass media. Muslims don't, which is why they are not fitting into the 21st century. There are many sections of the Quran which are unacceptable- 4 wives per man etc. You can whitewash but that don't change a thing.

I wasn't saying that Hindus don't accept certain sections of the scriptures as bad. We do, which is why we're evolving. But there is a fringe that does not accept it fully. More importantly that challenging the likes of evangelicals cannot be done efffectively until sincerely remove some of the despicable practices on our side.

All right...I touched a nerve there ....once a guy becomes a PM, he is employee of the state. He is to be led by constitution and his responsibility is for policy, cabinet secy is responsible for execution. That is the only difference. If you can allow him his rigt to bring in RSS workers, you should allow said secy to have his say too.

It is not, but they are the loudest self proclaimed leaders of Hindus. As @Marxist will vouch  (though lenin would have all had them lined up and shot )

well, I thought this would be a nuanced reply which it isn't, having someone lined up and shot isn't exactly "Utopian". actually that is the reason i believe the Commies to be the biggest monsters hiding in the cloak of human bodies. pathetic blood thirsty monsters who have the blood of hundreds of millions on their hands.

He would have lined up and shot ? Why How many Millions has RSS killed by follwing some i'll written book ?
If i become the monster I am not, ill mince commies alive if i can make a meat grinder big enough.

@danger007 @Infinity do you agree with this christian extremist/ "son of Church" when he says he want to bring every Indian unto Jesus?
For me Religion is Opium for masses...............Having said that Indian Constitution provides every religion freedom to propagate..............

You are right bro, not that we Hindus can't make fun of christians, we know hundreds of questions to make fun of them but we don't go to that cheap level, and hindus don't have good openion on Christians, we have saying here that a Muslim carries a matches on his shoulders but a Christian has teeth in his stomach, a very visious kind of people. As soon as they convert they start speaking against India and Hindus their loyalty tilts towards European countries.they become more white than the original whites:laugh:

It is also a core principle of all Dharmic ideologies that states that adharmis should be eliminated by any means.

Name any religion which doesn't say so................What If You feel i am a adharmi.......Plz Spare me .........I am a poor Indian with 2 kids and a wife...........................

not really :P ... I was merely trying to knock some sense into srinivas and wake him from his slumber. Adharmis have to be deal fairly by those who protect dharma. In India is the constitution which protects dharma. All dharmic values are enshrined there.

I studied in Christian Medical College and I can vouch for this.

LOL..... this guy is the Chief Secretary of Kerla :cheesy:

A good man to promote "secularism" with their Christian Chief Minister

Loan Waiver Scheme for Christian converts - The Hindu

...Under the debt waiver scheme for the Christian Converts, loans up to Rs.25,000 maturing on 31 March 2006 would be written off fully. In cases where the loan amount exceeds the stipulated amount, penal interest part would be written off, providing the persons with an opportunity to avail a one time benefit.

This is SECULAR kerala :enjoy:

Meanwhile COMMUNAL BJP ..... spreading Intolerance.

Christians, Muslims to gain as govt links loans with population share - The Times of India

The BJP government is asking public sector banks to lend to each minority community in line with its share of the total minority population within the 6% quota fixed for all minorities. The move will result in higher credit flow to Muslims and Christians. Under current rules, banks have to mandatorily earmark 15% of their priority sector loans to minority communities.

@rubyjackass @jaunty.... please tell us how to stop communal BJP.

To ensure priority sector loans to all is a good decision by BJP. Otherwise the priority sector lending in India is a sham. Loans are not being given to the most needy.

Kerala already had a loan waiver for backward classes. They were applying it to SCs and STs from Christians as well. Not in favor of any loan waiver, but there is some principle here.

And the chief secretary is free to spread his religion in his free time. It is his personal choice. It should not interfere with his work obviously. He was giving address to a church, duhh.

Btw gospel is not go spell. Lol. It is some Latin word.

LOL...... you are calling it a good decision by BJP ? What happened to "intolerance" debate ? :cheesy:

Why is "communal" BJP taking additional steps to help the "minority' who anyway will never vote for them ?

WRONG. This is encouraging Conversion with State Funding.

A Hindu with a loan will get a loan waiver if he converts to Christianity.

How about Modi implement this same strategy for Hindus ? People who do ghar wapsi will get a loan waiver. Especially poor muslims. :azn:

I have already quoted the relevant Civil Service rules that it breaches.

What if Modi and his entire MP's and MLA's do Gharwapsi after 5:00 PM and ask all Bureaucrats to do the same ? Are you OK with this "persona choice" of Modi ?
