A giant U.S.-led naval exercise with 22 nations from around the world got an unexpected visitor on Sunday — a Chinese spy ship perched in international waters.

The 24th Rim of the Pacific exercises (RIMPAC) in and around the Hawaiian Islands features more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel. China is part of a host of nations taking part, which also includes Australia, Canada, France, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of the Philippines, the United Kingdom and others.

Jlaw : Vietnam still keep the principle not to engage in any tactical exercise, not depend on this power to confront that power.

All exercise we engaged as non-tactical exercises and as observer

Don't worry. If you feel happy to see Vietnam process tactical exercises to USA, Japan, Australia, India, ... we will satisfy you.
Soon later. LOL

You look happy to have chance to spy US force ? We met no trouble to visit the heart of those great ships and carriers.

Any Viet could help to post some visiting photos of Vietnam officials to US facility ... pls

FYI, Vietnam Coast Guards were trained in US funded facilities in Vietnam and Florida since at least 6-7 years ago. Before, Vietnam Coast Guards is Vietnam Marine Police, but USA know exactly when we are going to change the name to VCG in advance. It's interesting.

USA focus on English training to Vietnam army,
Reason, we will not hire them to fight for us, but they need us to communicate well to them in case joint-operated. LOL.

Frankly, I must admit that Vietnam has no spare warship to join exercise so far away from home.
