My parents did the same thing for me when I was younger, they bought an apartment in HK for me to own when I grew up.

Some parents blow their money on expensive cars and other crap. But the clever ones will invest in property for their children's future.

As long as they're not buying houses for the sole purpose of earning money (such as wallstreet.....) then it's all good. Houses are for people to live not for earning money.

Its good investment because its not easy for young people to buy property/houses and its value would increase as well say after 20/15 years
