These are Turkish variants. They are modified versions. Turkey and China began missile work in 1990 (some report older). The reason being was Turkey had M-270 MRLS from the U.S. We wanted tech transfer which the U.S. refused so we decided to cooperate with the Chinese. Which resulted in T-300 Kasırga truck mounted 302mm rocket system based on Chinese WS-1. It had a 100 km range with improved range versions under development. Then we began work with the Chinese on Project J which was ballistic missile work (based on the B-611 SRBM) now this program was very secret. This resulted in two variants 150km range and a 300km range but higher ranges are also reported as high as 1,000km. This went into service in 01 but was not reported to the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms till 6 years later in 07. Since then all other work has not been released. It is reported got 200 missiles, at a reported cost of USD $300,000,000.
Each J-600T Yıldırım battery consists of:
* 1 x Battery Command & Control Vehicle
* 2 x Firing Team Command and Control Vehicles
* 6 x F-600T Launcher Vehicles
* 7 x F-600T Reload - Resupply Vehicles
* 1 x Maintenance Vehicle
The work was done by Roketsan. The trucks used are German MAN 26.372 6x6 truck so logistics are simplified. Seeing as we have now done mock dogfights who knows what else we have worked on with the Chinese.
