BEIJING: Bracketing India along with the US, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam as "threats" to China'a airspace, the PLA in a study has sought the broadening of its air surveillance and attack capabilities with high-speed cruise missiles and a new generation of bombers.

China's Air Force Command Academy in its report last year identified the United States, Japan, Taiwan, India and Vietnam as "threats" to its military airspace until the year 2030, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported.

While the massive expansion of Chinese navy with a second aircraft carrier and a new bomber to operate from its decks attracted worldwide attention, the new study showed that the air force has started developing a similar expansion strategy, the report said.

The study called for nine types of strategic equipment to counter the threats, which included high-speed air-launched cruise missiles, large transport planes, an airship that moves in the upper atmosphere, a next-generation fighter, unmanned attack aircraft, air-force satellites and precision-guided bombs.

It said the 2.3 million-strong People's Liberation Army (PLA), the world's largest, needs to broaden its air surveillance and attack capabilities to the western Pacific, including the areas near Japan to ensure its command.

The PLA operates with an annual budget of about $145 billion, over three times India's $40 billion budget.

The Beijing-based academy, a thinktank of an air force leadership training organisation, prepared the report in November last year.

Studies by the academy have previously served as policy guidelines, the report said.

China will have to be very carefull. India's future airforce till 2030 going to a game changer in the region. Overall 5 different aircraft planned for induction. Thats a massive build up. Against J20/31/10B/11D India will have most advanced airforce with 272 super sukois, 36 Rafale, 200 Tejas Mk1/2 , 90 New MMRCA, 150 PakFa, AMCA in large numbers. Our surveillance have greatly inproved. LRSAM and SRSAM are the best of its class. We will have more than 700 fighters by 2030 and beyond. Slowly but steadily submarine fleet been prepared to touch new depths with SSK and SSN. So our superiority will be felt in China

BEIJING – Bracketing India along with the US, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam as threat to China's airspace, the Chinese army in a study has sought the broadening of its air surveillance and attack capabilities with high-speed cruise missiles and a new generation of bombers.

China's Air Force Command Academy in its report last year identified the US, Japan, Taiwan, India and Vietnam as threats to its military airspace until the year 2030, The Times of India newspaper reported while quoting a Japanese news agency.

The study called for nine types of strategic equipment to counter the threats, which included high-speed air-launched cruise missiles, large transport planes, airship that moves in the upper atmosphere, a next-generation fighter, unmanned attack aircraft, air-force satellites and precision-guided bombs.

Ok, here we go. Crazy meanings are being derived on here. Gen. Raheel doesn't represent a super power, nor Pakistan can fight the US or Japan or even wants to mess up its relations with it. Gen. Raheel's statement was mere Indian focus and due to India's sponsorship of problems around the economic corridor.

Gen. Raheel didn't give the Chinese a "strategy" that they immediately started to work on. The article mentions a "report" or a threat assessment. It takes a while to come up with those report. So please, let's not put Pakistan into issues where she shouldn't belong to. Pakistan has a bright future and her economy is taking off so that's the core focus of your country, which was almost bankrupt just three years ago.

India will have to be very careful of my might in 10 years, since I plan to be richer than Bill Gates. I don't know how I'm going to do it yet, but fear my superiority nonetheless.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. We are good then. Just go read your statement three times and in details. The perception it gave out was different and that's why I wrote the post.

I said "...reciprocating with a same move.".i.e.Pakistan's enemy is China's enemy. And that is only India...

China's military budget is over 3.5 times India's but it's probably the equivalent of being worth over ten times India's budget. China makes everything on their own and acquire military hardware at actual cost to make them. India has to pay steep premiums and price hiking by foreign vendors for everything they buy. Only advanced arms-producing nations are genuine military powers. India is not even worthy of being considered a rival.

China are arming themselves with only USA in mind.
