Chinese man arrested for pushing worker into furnace

FAISALABAD:

A Chinese national was arrested on Wednesday after he reportedly pushed a worker into a burning furnace in Faisalabad, Express News reported.


The incident occurred at a factory in Faisalabad’s Sahianwala Industrial Estate. According to Express News, the labourer was pushed into the furnace by the Chinese supervisor of the labour force. The foreigner reportedly lost his cool after the worker failed to comprehend his instructions.

The injured employee was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical aid.

Police arrested the accused and initiated investigation. CPO Azhar Ikram told Express News that the matter will be dealt with according to law.

“The investigation is being conducted by SHO and DSP-level officers,” he added.

A protest was launched by labourers shortly after the incident.

Why are there Chinese supervisors in a Pakistani factory? Chinese are there to build roads and bridges. Construction materials can be shipped from China. It seems we're not getting the full story.
