Chinese & Indian premier's agree to push forward strategic partnership

COPENHAGEN -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh agreed here on Friday to further develop the strategic cooperative partnership between their two countries.

Wen said the unity, cooperation and common development of China and India, which had a collective population of 2.5 billion people, were critical for the peace, stability and prosperity of Asia.

Singh said sustainable development of India and China was indispensable for turning the 21st century into a century of Asia. He said the India-China relationship was of strategic significance and India was willing to deepen the friendship and strengthen cooperation with China.

The two premiers also exchanged ideas on the process of the U.N. climate change conference.

Wen called on all parties to adhere to the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities," respect each other, negotiate on a equal basis, and strive for fair, reasonable and realizable outcomes.

Both China and India had made huge efforts for the conference, and China understood and supported India's self-initiated reduction targets, Wen said.

Singh agreed with Wen on the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities." He said India was satisfied with the coordination with China in climate change negotiations, and was willing to promote such communication and cooperation.

Well good relations between us two are in interest of both especially economically, if we can cooperate the weightage we can bring to the table is mammoth

. .
I can see this growing only in the future, the tread is that when two countries get bigger economic drive them. IMO in next decade or so India and China will mellow done a lot and will coexist peacefully. Great move man.

. .
do you really believe india and China can live peacefully next to each other? I don't think so, because:

1. there are not enough water and other resources.
2. indian population is still increasing at some stupid rate, while the land size is only about 1/3 of China.
3. india is still having border dispute with its neighbors, threatened to invade Pak last year.

Indian population is increasing a slowing rate, but it cannot be as drastic chinese autocratic rules - 1 couple - 1 child policy

India have border issues, but what about china - China has border issues with - India , Russia , Japan , Taiwan, Mangolia

Good going china

Yeah right, trolling without providing source to support your rant ?

Read this and shut the hell up for good !!

During the first stage, with the breakthrough of the Sino-Myanmar border problem, we roughly solved border issues with relatively small countries including Pakistan, Mongolia, North Korea and Nepal. Meanwhile, then-Premier Zhou Enlai visited 14 Asian and African countries and promoted our relations with neighboring countries.

During the second stage, after the reform and opening-up, we gradually eased the impact and tensions caused by the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) through negotiations. For example, in the mid-1980s, Sino-Indian border talks were restarted, and in 1991, with the improvement of bilateral relations, China and Vietnam restarted border negotiations.

The third stage is mainly about big countries, especially Russia. In 2005, we signed the Supplementary Agreement on the Eastern Section of China-Russia Boundary Line. In 2008, the last pillar was erected on the border, which stands for the comprehensive settlement of Sino-Russian border issues.

If anyone knows, this is a stand up comedian (of Indian decent - a Malayali/Keralite!!) from Canada - Russel Peters. Dont worry, he makes fun of everyone, including the 'desis' and the "juice"!!
