Sorry to hear about that.

While this type of news are initially laughed at, there is a deeper issue and problem here. We expect religious organizations to produce this kind of responses, but hardly from governments, at least not from the Western governments, anyway.

The deeper issue here is of government controls. If I punch you in the face and did it in the public square, of course we expect the government to intervene in some measures. The effects are immediate and tangible. You are injured, perhaps even to the point where you can no longer contribute to society, at least as a taxpayer.

But in the privacy of your own home, how are you injured from watching someone making sexual innuendos via a banana ? Public morals are injured, according to the Chinese government here. A somber lesson once the smirking is done.

When was the last time the Chinese Communists gave a damn about privacy?

Everyone should know the etiquette on eating a banana.

Peal it.
Eat it with your eyes open.
Small bites.
Assert your dominance with direct eye contact with anyone who looks at you.

Or like this:

Because it's a fu<king banana not someone's co<k. If you're desperate to get laid pay someone.

Kim Kardashian Pear.

The difference is this pear is all natural.

It's hard to find an equilibrium though. If you look at their next door neighbors the Japanese, honestly their late night TV is a bit much.

Maybe I am being a prude but it can't be healthy for society - some of that stuff is severely demeaning to women and a little pscycho to say the least.

I draw the line at physical actions. Whatever goes in your head, your business. Control yourself and you will be fine with me. That is the equilibrium.

Guess they wont be reverse engineering this and selling it in China anytime soon under a different brand.

Dude maybe that is too simplistic? What stays in your mind is fine but once you start expressing it in words (as is the case here) it adds to the culture. This is why words like n1gga and b1tch are not allowed in your television channels , because it creates a culture of humiliation of traditionally suppressed demographics ( and quite rightly so).

Of course censoring a person eating fruit is ridiculous but there is ambiguity as to where that fine line of what can be expressed and what cannot. Words create a culture and the culture support actions. It is hard to get that balance right. I am sure you would not support videos espousing sn*ff films or the like.
