Chinese OLED display giant BOE held a "BOE Innovation Day" with NIO on December 14, showcasing Mini LED, BD Cell, flexible display, total reflection technology, and smart windows, and other IoT solutions.
In an article posted on its official WeChat account, BOE said that these innovative display technologies bring infinite possibilities for the smart cabin, bringing people a new experience of smart travel.
According to BOE, the in-car display products equipped with its Mini LED technology can achieve thousand-level zoning fine light control and have a million level ultra-high contrast ratio to bring a more pure and natural display effect.
Its reflective LCD display makes full use of reflected ambient light, with low power consumption characteristics while also achieving a healthy eye protection effect.
The application of flexible OLED rear lights and transparent displays also brings more imagination to vehicle interior design, BOE said.
Auto glass is increasingly changing as innovative technologies are gradually applied to the automotive sector. BOE introduced smart dimming windows that can be used in automotive sunroofs, side windows and other areas.
These glasses use dye liquid crystal technology to control the light transmission rate, can achieve the whole surface or partition intelligent dimming, with high permeability, low power consumption and other characteristics, the driver can be adjusted by touch or button operation, BOE said.

BOE did not specify whether all of these technologies are used in NIO's cockpit, but mentioned that it and NIO have continued to work together in recent years to create an interactive, warm, and user-friendly intelligent cockpit.
This includes the launch of NOMI with an artificial intelligence system, which meets the ultimate pursuit of intelligent interaction experience in the car and is loved by NIO owners, BOE said.
It is worth noting that Shen Feng, executive vice president of NIO, highlighted the current demand for screens in the car's smart cockpit at BOE's IPC conference last month.
He said at that time that the screen of NOMI at the center of NIO's smart cockpit is a product created by BOE and NIO's cooperation. And the bezel of the large center screen provided by BOE has been reduced from the initial 18mm to 7.7mm.
He mentioned that NOMI is not just a simple artificial intelligence, but a car partner with feelings, humanity, and intelligence.
