Chinese company's patent technology enables transparent display changing glass into screens

.
Xinhua is funded in whole or in part by the Chinese government.

Btw, nice display.

. . .
It's a bit dated, the technology was created ten years ago MIT licensed the tech to LUX Labs

It's really cool. It honestly appears like something less complex to produce than TVs, could it be cheaper eventually?

.
Yeah that's cheap, I was talking about manufacturing cost, so it's even cheaper than that. Odd that I haven't seen it anywhere, seems like a really cool investment for businessess
i've seen it in some board rooms. The last time I saw it was two weeks ago at an investors conference in New York. It was done to create an immersive experience for the attendees.

what do you mean? LUX is made from nano optical material like the Xinhua display.

The ability to display graphics and texts on a transparent screen can enable many useful applications. Here we create a transparent display by projecting monochromatic images onto a transparent medium embedded with nanoparticles that selectively scatter light at the projected wavelength. We describe the optimal design of such nanoparticles, and experimentally demonstrate this concept with a blue-color transparent display made of silver nanoparticles in a polymer matrix. This approach has attractive features including simplicity, wide viewing angle, scalability to large sizes and low cost.

Patented means it's their own innovation which no others had done before, You can't patent a product if it was invented by someone else.

that's not true you don't patent the outcome you patent the process. The process for making Xinhua nano materials and the display may be different also patents are territorial it is possible that MIT didn't patent their process in China. There is no such thing as a global patent.

This technology does seem to be around for some years, we saw similar products in China everywhere already, but the OP one must be different, otherwise it can't patent it even in China, maybe they are still glass, not screens, which I m not very sure.

Beijing's subway windows from 2 years ago

Beijing subway window is made by LG using technology from Gauzy an Israeli company. Unlike LUX, it's not fully transparent, Gauzy screen are 38% opaque. The Xioami Mi transparent TV screens are from LUX, Mi TV is the best selling transparent TV on the market.

I m not an expert in this, maybe this can help

There are many transparent products and display products on the market, but it is difficult to combine the two together. Previously, Xiaomi, LG and Samsung have launched high-definition transparent TVs. According to Zheng Gang, the founder and CEO of Photonic Crystal, this type of transparent TV screen divides the light-emitting pixels into two parts, one for display and one for transparency. Therefore, it is necessary to find a balance between transparency and resolution, which cannot be achieved. True transparency.

Photonic crystal photonic chip transparent screen (nanoAR) is a multi-layer flexible transparent film material with a three-dimensional nano-body holographic optical structure, which can be directly attached to any existing transparent medium (glass, acrylic, etc.) to form a real image and virtual images, turning transparent media into high-definition, brilliant displays. It uses the principle of computational holography to design a three-dimensional micro-nano holographic structure, and uses the difference in spatial coherence to achieve selective control of light and transparent display. It can be used for transparent display of vehicle smart cockpit, AR-HUD, AR glasses, etc. Scenes.
