According to Vietnamese news, on February 22 a Vietnamese fishing boat was fired upon by Chinese coast guard near the Paracel Islands. The coast guard then boarded the ship and confiscated fishes and fishing equipment.



Good to see China keep the peace in South East Asia again. Without China keeping Vietnam in check, that terrorist country is always trying to rob its neighbors like Cambodia and Laos. Very soon, China will do the most peaceful action of all -- replace the terrorist regime of Vietnam with a more peaceful, China-friendly government.

Agreed on the part about casualties. U guys lost like 15000 - 19000, which is way lower than what they lost.

Still, you failed to achieve any objectives. Both sides claimed victory and Vietnam did not withdraw from Cambodia till 1989. So how exactly did u 'teach them a lesson'?

EDIT : I checked again and found out 100 000 Vietnamese deaths were civilian deaths due to Chinese scorched earth policy while withdrawing. Seems the PLA's idea of teaching lessons is by killing unarmed civilians in countrysides.
