This is not China agriculture, it's in North America ? U drunk more, buddy.

LOL, how about West Agriculture 100 years ago ? Industral revolution ?

The guy is saying that when China moved primarily to a "wet" harvest of Rice instead of Wheat there was no urgent need to create machinery to mill food like there was in Europe 250 years ago (Since Rice doesn't require much processing to eat.)

People are saying the rise of machinery use was initially started by agriculture and later exploded into other fields. Since China had no need there wasn't an industrial explosion.

Example:

100 years is too far, i just said current China Agriculture had the industrial revolution, farmers in China not like 100 years before. Whatever Rice or Wheat farm Chinese farmers also need industrial explosion in 21 century, and they had used them in China.

yes we all know every country these days has machines. This isn't 200 years ago.

I think you are misunderstanding the title. It isn't about an agricultural industrial revolution. It's about this Industrial Revolution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's a point when there's suddenly a big switch from doing everything by hand (not specifically agriculture) to moving to machines to do work. From creating machines to generate electricity, to lightbulbs, to cars and so on. They say this all started due to needs in agriculture.

Not right, bro. Even passed 200 years, in 21 century most developing nations it's still not easy for poor farmers to widely use machines in farm. Agriculture Industry Revolution is the milestone before nation into a developed nation.

Don't look down upon Agriculture Industry Revolution, only fully industrialized country can produce all farming machines to farmers with a cheap price, even 21 century only few nations can do this.

Just search, how developing nation farmers farm on their lands ?

Lol! Can we get off the topic of modem mechanized farming and who has it?

The reason the guy is standing in a farm in China is to explain a theory on why the Industrial Revolution didn't happen in China 200+ years ago.
It was because China wasn't growing crops that needed extensive processing to eat like the European's did ( Mill (grinding) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) and thus had no real incentive to go crazy mechanizing things (I don't mean tractors to plant/harvest the food) The mechanizing things in agriculture dominoed into other fields and the Industrial Revolution happened.

> 100+ years ago, it's dark time before Qing dynasty of China collapse and the West started Industry Revolution in the city.
I believe it was not the difference of food extensive processiong, it was the fail of Qing government stupid & ignorant. 100+ years ago, poor China missed Industry Revolution + War lost + internal conflicts lead to Chinese Agriculture lack a good society environment to develop Industry Revolution.

Compared >100+ years ago poor China with Industry Revolution West, it's not fair to Chinese Agriculture coz it's a collapsing China. Without a strong central government, millions of poor Chinese died for hungry let alone the agricultural revolution. =(

But now in China (PRC), Chinese farmers r enjoying their Agricultural Revolution provided by "Made in China". =) At least right now China and the West Agricultural we reach the same level.

The biggest problem with Chinese agriculture is the tiny plots allotted to each farmer. The revenue from small plots is miniscule and running such farms is very inefficient. A 2 acre plot really doesnt need large tillers, threshers and mowers - a family armed with spades, straw hats and gumboots can too easily run a tiny plot but stay poor and barely self sufficient.

In the U.S where a small farmer might run a 400 acre plot, heavy machines makes them very efficient. Ive seen videos of orange picking machines run by one dude that can harvest 1,000,000 oranges in a day!

Here in Australia I live on a 5 acre plot but we dont farm anything. I do small time gardening on my days off and sometimes at night after work. I cant imagine making a living farming on my property!
