I would like to see kung fu masters dominate in these type of competitions but sadly Chinese kung-fu has turned into a performance act for public events of specific sets of 'moves' like a dance. Not really for fighting. It's really sad. kung-fu has always been an integral part of Chinese culture and identity, but today is in a sad state of affairs.

If China is serious about reviving its cultural identity then it must support the rejuvenation of the deadly combat art of Kung Fu--more so than Confucius Institutes whom nobody cares about.

kung fu will not work in regulated combative sports. The fact that you have rules, need to work gloves and cannot strike vital areas takes away the things real kung fu masters do best
