Currently Turkish-Iranian border lacks infastructure for huge volume of railway cargo transportation due to hilly terrain. There was a project about Kars-Iğdır-Nakhchivan railway (and Nakhchivan railway is already connected to Iran's railway). When that project is done, there will be big potential for trade on railways from Iran to Turkey or vice versa.
